    Somehow I doubt it'd be available here in the US by the above time frame due to the potential for lawuits/legal issues.

    2014 is also not a confirmed possibility as the article states that it's actually estimating and GM only stated availability will be 'near term'.

    Still, this is damn awesome tech. Regardless of how long, I hope to see it eventually.

    I fear huge accidents if drivers start to drive with their hands off the wheel. Sure lane centering is a cool tech, but you don't want to give it all up to the car. There are unexpected events and software glitches that might not be accounted for. It would be nice if the car kept a sleepy driver safe though:)

    Driver has total control. The LKA in the ATP only apply 80% of the torque to steering wheel. The driver can easily override the steering wheel. Cadillac can easily design the system that disables as soon as the system detects hands on steering wheel much like disengaging the cruise control when the driver applies the brakes.
