Formula One Pinnacle Tint Plugin Toyota Prius five percent Sides and Back
    5 percent

15 percent on Rear lower since it had factory tint on it already. The ratio looks perfect from outside and inside.

I mainly chose this for Privacy and 61% Total Solar Energy Rejection (TSER) rating

Make sure you check with your local laws about tint %.

I did notice a huge difference in felt heat, Very noticeable also noticed the Air Conditioner not working as hard.

45 on your front windows is "illegal" too. Illegal is like being pregnant. Either you're pregnant or not, you can't be half-pregnant. Likewise, something is either illegal or not. ;)

32 -- well in SoCal I see quite a few people with tint on their driver & passenger front windows. Probably about 1 out of every 5 cars has some tint on those windows. So the cops obviously don't care.

I was asking FUUFNF if he tinted the front windshield as the tint shop said they put a ceramic on his entire front windshield. That I think might get you pulled over.

Limo tint on the front side windows will get you pulled over faster than some unnoticeable 80% ceramic tint like air blue on the front windshield.

From what I seen, Windshield is the the touchy subject, be careful, anything below 50 and you will pretty much get pulled over quick, a lot of people who do get ~60% or like air blue 80% its unnoticeable especially with since the rest of the car is dark. It cuts out a lot of heat with ceramic tints which is worth it for me.

Front windows I have been lucky with and worst case fix it ticket then I will get the legal fronts, bad windshield and you can get your car impounded instead =(.

There was a tip from this forum with windshield tint by putting a darker piece on the top 4 inches of the wind shield to have it appear lighter as well.

Another note is insurance claims, with accidents if you have your windshield tinted and it comes up, it could be argued your fault even if it is not your fault.

I had Carbon XP installed yesterday here in WA state. 18% on all the rears, 35% on the fronts and 80% on the windshield with an aprx 6" band of Carbon XP visor. I'm in Phoenix a lot during the summer and at 115 degrees in the shade we need all the help we can get :) You really can't notice the windshield tint unless you had an officer on a mission to burn you!

Yup, I have Wincos 70 on my windshield and yes it's technically illegal. It has a slight blueish hue to the tint so it's barely noticeable. I'm sure if I ever got pulled over by a officer who wanted to be a dick, he'd cite me for front window tint (Wincos 30), no front license plate, and incorrect HOV access sticker placement, before he even noticed that my windshield was tinted.

Still, I think the windshield tint is worth the risk. My PiP (with all black leather interior) stays so much cooler than my '07 Prius (with all tan fabric interior).

Looks great! I was considering the 20/45 combo when I had mine done.

Wow, that looks great! You are right though, it does look really dark. I was worried about the same issues with lightness changes, but I think your tiered effect is flawless. In Iowa the limits are 70% front, and anything in the back. I was going to do 50% ceramic all around, and 70% on the windshield, but i was worried about night vision. Sounds like that shouldn't be a problem?

I also had my car tinted by Leo at TW Tint in Santa Ana based on the recommendations from this thread. Thanks guys. Setting up an appointment was easy, and they got me done in about an hour while I waited comfortably in their lounge area. The tint job was nice. I did the Wincos, 70% on the windshield, 30% on the front windows, and 20% in the back. The application was perfect and I haven't noticed any imperfections. I would recommend them if you are considering Wincos.

Went with 3M Crystalline on the Front, Windshield Looks good, went over the dots, looks seamless right now, we will see when it cures as there was some complaints bubbles forming later on and then needing go around them instead.

JUST GOT A FIX IT TICKET FOR MY FRONTS ... AND A TEXTING TICKET and I wasn't texting. I had the phone in my hand, but wasn't texting. AND YES, the cop was a dick, BIG TIME. (I will be fighting the ticket since you can't see in the windows how can you tell what I was doing) FUUFNF he for sure would have given you a ticket for your HOV sticker, 'cause I saw yours and it was pretty borderline. My tint place talked me into going a little darker on the fronts than I wanted to go. I totally love the darkness level, but I will drop it to a lesser amount to keep the heat off. I GOTTA GET THE "READ THE TEXT" feature working on my advanced level. I guess I need a new phone with MAP (message access protocal) ... any suggestions? I will also sound proff my PIP with DynaMat - doors and floor for $800

phone in the hands = ticket. Dosen't matter if you are talking, texting, looking at your GPS, watching youporn vids, whatever.

It's a "hands free" law not a "text free" law. I don't agree with it, but I'm just saying you can try and fight it but you won't win. Last time I was at court I watched about 8 people try to fight it while I waited to be called up and all 8 lost. Ironically I was the only one that won and thats only because The officer didn't show up (I work at a community collage and one of the campus cops gave me the ticket during business hours. I called the police chief and he apologized and told the cop not to show up)

What's screwy is that it is perfectly fine to use your hand-held dedicated GPS unit like a TomTom or Garmin, but you cannot use the GPS app in a phone . And it is perfectly fine to fuss with your music list on your iPod Touch, but not your iPhone.

As written, the law makes it illegal to hold and operate a device that has phone/text functionality while driving, regardless of whether you are using the phone/text functionality at the time. And that includes when you are stopped at a light.
