This is my fourth tank and my total since having the car...indicated MPG is about 1-1.5 mpg lower when actually measured. Very happy with my C! -M
How much is everyone paying for insurance on the Prius c? I understand that some of those rates depend on gender and age, I’m just looking for a ballpark number.
I just traded in my 07 Tundra on a 12 Prius C. I havent had to refuel yet but according to the dash I have been getting between 52 and 68mpg. I have gone 350 miles so far and it still shows half a tank, hopefully the fuel gauge is working right, I am not used to going more than 300 before needing gas LOL.
I'm 140+ miles into my first tank...60.2 mpg tank average at this point. The fuel level has dropped 2 bars now. My commute to work is 27 miles and this morning my trip summary indicated 64.4 mpg. Looking pretty good so far.
We just got an unsold C1 on dealer trade. Of course we had to take it out & see what mpg we could get. This is a relatively flat 10mi. loop, 80* temp, so pretty optimal conditions. Used a couple bars of batt., so a little cheating, but not bad: Afterwards we kicked ourselves for leaving the tires stock, instead of taking the time to fill to 50 psi. - could have gotten 100+ mpg!
I've been driving my Prius C for about 8 days now. At first my mpgs were in the low 40's because I remember reading somewhere on this site that you get better gas mileage if you don't use the econ button. But ever since I turned on the econ button my mileage has steadily increased. I'm up to 58.1 mpg! I travel 40 miles round trip and go from sea level to an elevation of around 4000 ft. I really baby her up that hill and since I haven't reached 500 miles on the odemeter, I never go over 60 mph. It's all mostly freeway though. Maybe about 8 miles of stop and go traffic. I'm about at a half a tank now and will fill up on Thursday. I'll let you know ASAP. I would show you a picture of my car, but I don't know how to post a picture on this site. I also can't edit my profile pic. Option 2 is greyed out. Anyway I love my car so far. I had a diesel bug and was getting around 43 mpg. My scores have been around the low 90's.
~$440/6mo (30yo, male, no accidents, no tickets, multi-car discount, full coverage) This is a lot worse than my 2010 Yaris ($280/6mo), but I got my car before IIHS released their findings. It's still disappointing, though.
Filled up for the first time last night. I drove it 484 miles from when I picked it up about a week and a half ago. I put in about 8.5 gallons last night so that is roughly 57 MPG. This is my first Prius, as I traded in a 2002 Altima to get it. I absolutely love this car.
Finally finished my first non-dealer tank. 52.2 indicated, 50.5 calculated. Considering most of my trips are 3-4 miles, I am a happy camper
Filled up my first tank at 57mpg indicated, 56 calculated. I also discovered today that was on 31 PSI tires all around (now set to spec).
Picked up my Blue Streak C 3 yesterday, 55 MPG on the 30 mile drive home (ran AC pretty high and drove 70 most of the way, too). I am loving this car so far!
Had my c (3) a month today and have been getting 53 mpg like clockwork with a combination of city/highway. When I just drive around town my mileage is 58-62. I am not doing anything special when driving. I am a previous Prius owner (04) and know the driving techniques but just finished the break-in period on Wednesday so have been varying speed/cvt for the first month. This car rocks!
I have my Prius C for almost 3 weeks now. I am on my third tank. Driving conditions: 36 miles commute to work on a highway with two 5 miles slow traffic areas. Overall usage is 90% highway and 10%suburb. Tire pressure 40/38 PSI. Using 'Echo mode' First tank - filled by dealer - Driving stile: "This is my brand new car. Let it break in. Drive it gently." 52.1MPG indicated , 50.87MPG calculated Second tank - Driving stile: "This is my first hybrid. Let's drive it for max MPG." I mention a lot of drivers around were unhappy. I was driving slower then anyone else around. 58.0MPG indicated , 56.67MPG calculated. Third tank (current). Driving stile: "Car has 1K miles. Let's just drive it normal. Still try not to abuse it. Just don't be slowest car on a road anymore." This tank is not empty yet. But with 352 miles since last refill I have 44.2 MPG indicated. This is really below my expectations. As I am still driving PC very conservatively with cruising speed mostly in a 50-65MPH range. Maybe landshaft in CT is not best suited for PriusC performance. But I fill that the car is under powered and engine has to work hard to keep up with traffic. Any chance Toyota limiting car power usage to let a car break in properly? Or that's all what PC can do on a road? I will connect OBD2 BT adapter tomorrow and use Torque app on my android phone to monitor more details. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with my PC. As it perfectly fits my lifestyle. I am just trying to understand what to expect and how optimally use my first hybrid car.
I'm getting an indicated 51+ MPG - Fuelly says 47.5. I do not drive conservatively and I do not use "Eco". Commute is 10 miles one way some days and 25 miles one way other days. About 60/40% highway/city (mostly because of slow rush hour traffic on freeway) - when we can cruise it's about 60 mph. Temperature here is averaging 85 degrees F during the day. I think the temperature and the slow freeway speeds may be the difference. YMMV (literally) Edited to add: I posted this in the "Tire Pressure at Delivery" thread: "Just checked tire pressure after having the car for over 3 weeks. 32 or 33 on all. Boosted to 39.5 F and 37 rear. Ride is definitely rougher but not enough to make me uncomfortable. MPG went up a little bit. We'll see what Fuelly says on the next fill-up." My tire pressure was way below what the high MPG drivers are running. I think I'll get better MPG now.
I'm actually getting better than what the computer is saying. I'm calculating about 59.6 and the computer is saying about 54.5 I'm getting about 590 miles plus every tank
We've had our C2 for almost three weeks now, still on the gas that it came with. It's averaging about 53.5 MPG. Real short trips net something in the high 40s. Most trips are mid 50s to low 60s. This is almost entirely with the A/C on. To me, high MPGs are real easy to achieve in this car. For best results, don't use the A/C and don't try to go fast.
First tank goes 720km (433miles) before it "beeps" Refuel with 30L (8.57 gallons) to first "click" of the pump. Calculated FC is 4.16L/100km or 50.52mpg. This was the first 720km (only 6 km when i took it at the dealer) of the car. Driving conditions, first 100km is city driving, from 40-80kmh (25-45mph), the next 200 is highway drive at 100-110kmh (65-70mph) then some city run around, and night sprinting at my home town, running around from 120-150kmh (70-90mph) this lasted a good 60-70km at the end, and then a long trip on b-road @65mph about 200km later. the rest was a few short 10-20km errand run.
Took my first road trp. The car said I got 53.5 MPG. Big boost over my Porsche . Still have the Porsche also.
