When you're rocking a good tank. MPG is high (59.4) and the last 200 or so miles were in your favor then.....

The wind picks up to 40mph AND it is going against you!

Keep the thread going by adding your MPG frustration on your current tank of fuel. :D

The wife takes it for a spin and the tank drops to 44 mpg and I have to nurse it back up to 50 mpg.

When some jackoff in front of you slams on the brakes for no reason, ruining a perfectly good glide!

You are gliding down a hill 30+ fully expecting the light at the bottom to stay green, but then it turns red at the last second. Oh yeah, and there's a big hill on the other side of the stop light.

You glide down the hill without using brakes, to avoid energy loss on the mechanical to electric conversion, and you see flashing blue lights in the rear-view mirror.

You have a really good tank mpg going after driving all week on your daily commute to and from work and then you have a long weekend with all in town, stop and go driving :(

You just want to move the car from the street to the driveway and it refuses to get into EV mode.

So far it is my fiancé finding some reason (no reason at all really) to take the Prius out for a short 2 mile run to the grocery store!

Add to that he hasn't gotten the hang of the pulse and glide thing as of yet. Or looking in the rearview mirror to see if there is traffic behind him, before trying to maintain expected speeds by others up a few hills we have in our commute together.

In the end I have no frustrations on my current tank of fuel... Doing a short test run since the last fill-up, driving like the rest of the idiots here in Nothern Virginia. Hard accelerations, racing light to light, when prudent going just under 10mph over the posted (many roads I travel to and from work are speed traps just waiting to happen)

The only frustration is how much stress this sort of driving is having on my nerves! Just not in my nature to drive this way. And some guilt in leaving some SUV and sporty cars in the dust as a quickly accelerated to about 7mph over the limit. :) I plan on doing this only till Saturday night after I get off of work. Then it is back to sensible driving....

Chip, you need to make him get his own Prius or agree to learn how to pulse and glide. That wasn't meant as a dirty innuendo. lol

had 62MPG on MFD for 250 miles then the heat wave hit. had to use AC for 200 miles. the tank dropped to 58MPG on MFD. all this on 17 inch rims and in power mode.

    I hate it when I drive 10 miles to Berkeley and back, and I hit the accelerator just a little too hard on the freeway before I exit, making the ICE kick in and drop the trip mileage from 999 to 250 MPG. Don't you hate it when that happens? :-}

We are at least two years away from his buying a new car.

He and I when he drives remlinds me of when maybe my Dad tried to teach me to drive , and maybe the same when he drives with me. :D

In the end we are good here... Been together about 20 months - more like 20 years - all in a very good way. :)

Don't you hate it when your instant MPG is showing 50, but your tank average is dropping because you were averaging 55 MPG for the tank.

I did go to the mall last night 19.0 miles round trip and did 80.4 MFD :D

Yup, this happened to me. I got off on the speeding ticket though and was only cited for my tint.

When my Cons. MPG dropped by a few MPG's, so I naturally checked my tire pressures and found a screw outside of the repairable area of the tire. I had to get one new tire it ended up costing me $308.12.

You're sitting at a red light in EV and your naive passenger goes "Can you turn up the heat a degree?", you begrudgingly do, and sure enough, the ICE fires right up on queue.
