Good point, I will try that too. Though this seems like a workaround.

    Today, no iPhone, no Entune.
    - Find nearby ATM returned a screenful of sites.

I'll have to try that the next time I drive my car. Have you had any issues with the Nav/Audio system Bluetooth linking with your iPhone? Mine worked perfect the first time I drove my car but not the 2nd or 3rd time I drove it :( Can't figure it out now. I go to Apps and it times out and displays something about I have to have a program open on my phone but it was open before I even got into my car. I even tried it plugged into the USB port and it still wont talk to the phone although playing Pandora on my iPhone plays it on the car as well as my iPod music.

That doesn't sound good. Do you have Entune running on your phone before or after you sync?

I opened Entune while sitting at this computer and went out to my car and tried syncing 'em up and it failed several times. Another time I tried opening Entune after I powered up the car and same story :( After the first day with my car and the iPhone talking to it just fine, I was using my iPhone paired with a Jambox speaker. My iPhone has never been able to talk to my car since then. I suspect there is a issue with using more than one Bluetooth device with the iPhone and the car being one of those multiple devices. I can go thru my list of devices on my phone and delete them all and start over with the car being the first to get synced and see if that cures the issue.

I believe Entune only works when using USB.

As to BT and normal phone or music, links fine every time (iPhone 4, IOS 5.1)

I do prefer iPod on USB for music.

Is there a "gps works" on/off setting somewhere I am missing? I tried doing a search for ATM's, Gas Stations, Grocery Stores, Restaurants, and Fast Food this morning (again in the middle of downtown Orlando in a very populated area) and zero results for everything.

I did the unthinkable this morning  I opened up the Nav owners manual and started reading on page 179 :pound:

I'll update my progress once I get it figured out. I am guessin it will be something real simple in the setup that I didn't do initially.

Don't know if it will make a difference or not but there is an iOS update to 5.1.1. May help a bit for the iPhone users trying to use Bluetooth. Least worth a try. :D

The whole system is a total failure. My wife drives an Acura MDX and the system is live even while driving. And the iPod integration is the best there is, it actually indexes the whole iPod and then you can search just using your voice for artist, title, genre or song title. Awesome. And the scroll rate is super fast. My Prius system is useless once it starts moving, which is, you know, what you do with a car!

I didn't have a usb cable in the car when i first got it and entune worked fine.
I've recently been using a usb cord attached to my ProClip iphone cradle and I was having major entune issues. Today I finally got it working again by starting up the entune app on my phone and leaving it open (without going back to the home screen). Most likely it's a coincidence and won't work on my way home tonite, but this is the first time entune has worked at all for me in over a week.

Call it dysfunctional... You are not allowed to work with the NAV while car is in motion but you can gladly change radio stations or ipod playlists or change screen contrasts . Dont all those activities require you to take your attention off the road . What about adding an additional screen while the car is in motion saying something to the effect : " GPS usage not allowed by driver while car is in motion" And then given a button for Passenger. Toyota please look at the Waze app on the Iphone for a aimialr implementation. This change will save a lot of agony and will put you off the hook!

That will Un-Jailbreak my phone if I do that update :( Gotta be something to figure out. I tried once today before heading out to pick up my son at school. No go still. Need more time to figure it out.

That is why i did not waste my $ on nav. in my Prius. I am disappointed with most of the toyota electronics. JBL stereo in my Prius is fair at best. Radio reception poor. Cruise control not on steering wheel poor design. Come on toyota get with it especially on a car like the Prius so right in other areas. Please transform the rest of the car.

Maybe 4th Gen will have more things figured out? On my car I couldn't order it without the Nav but that's OK. The rest of the car is super awesome so it doesn't matter :p

I got the searches to work. Totally my bad. Apparently I missed the part in the manual that says all voice prompted nav searches will not work until you do at least one manual search. Duh so obvious...

I'm getting to like the forced pull off the road in traffic and park feature disabled nav feature. In fact I'm going to suggest to Toyota we make it even better. From now on we should have to park the car, put on the e-brake, turn on the hazards, light flares, have all 4 wheels chucked and booted, have a traffic cop redirect nearby traffic, then wait for a random time from 15 to 45 minutes where you get a five second chance to guess a 10 digit random alphanumeric code to turn on the radio or else you have to start all over again. That would rock and be so safe no kittens would ever die again. Good thinking toyota! Thank you for showing me the way!

Unfortunately, we're seeing a wide range of experiences because of the significant change in nav systems starting w/the '12 model year. The ones in the '10-'11 Prius are a generation newer than the one in my '06 and resemble the one in the Lexus HS 250h I'd won a week test drive of.

I took a look at the one on F8L's '12 Prius and it's TOTALLY different. Unfortunately, judging by the comments here on Priuschat, it seems like the generation on the '12 is in some ways, a step backward. :(

I'm reasonably happy w/the nav on my '06 other than the cost of the update DVDs. Hence, I haven't updated. I'm still on the disc that came w/my car that I bought in January 06 (so its data was likely completed in 05 or earlier).
I actually like where the cruise control is. Toyota's been doing this for ages. My mom's 96 Camry was like that. I wouldn't be surprised if they started that CC placement w/the 92 Camry (92-96 Camry were a particular generation, the 91 Camry's CC design was totally different, we had one of those too).

I'm finally getting the NAV to work but the USB is totally horrid! I cannot get it to see 3/4 of my music. It may see one or two songs in an album but not the others or it simply cannot see even when placed in the root directory. Seriously, how hard is it to design the system to read like a computer? My 5yr old Kenwood stereo could do that. Grrr

One phone call later, now my Entune works like it did on day one

Just got my iPad to pair with the system. Used the Bluetooth connection for a new phone and it worked right from the first time. Played Pandora using the iPad as the connection device.

I know others are having problems but I am pretty impressed so far.:)
