I just purchased a 2012 Prius. I tried to program the all doors are unlocked when the driver's door is opened within 10 seconds after turning the Power switch off. On page 89 of the user manual, it explained how to do it but me and my dealer could get it to work. Can anyone done this before help me?
    Thanks:rockon:

This is the procedure that I used (not sure if every step is necessary, but this is exactly how I did it):

    1. Get in the car, it should be off.
    2. Close the door.
    3. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote for at least five seconds.
    4. The multi-information display will show a little picture of a car with four doors open or something like that.
    5. That's it!

Did you mean to say "couldn't get it to work"?

Your post is a little confusing.

I have tried the pp.89-90 procedure at least 20 times and can't get it to work. At this point, I expect to have the dealer program it when they receive my license registration and plates.

I did program the FOB as above until the graphic onscreen indicated opening all doors. Seemed to work; however, next day it didn't. If I find a comprehensive solution, I'll post it here.

Yes, I meant the dealer couldn't get it to work either. Pressing the FOB unlock and locked button will do, all doors will unlock when you unlock the driver side door with smart key. It is not for unlocked linking with the driver door open first.

I am not sure about using the chicken-dance, but what you describe is an option using Techstream - I know because I changed my settings as you described. If your dealer couldn't figure it out, you better ask for another technician... it's right there, in plain view...

Is this techstream unit very expensive? Where can I purchase one if reasonable price?

The official Toyota units come in two flavors - Techstream (incl. a pc) and Techstream Lite (which includes only the OBD cable).

TS Lite will set you back about $495 (the cost of the Drew Technologies "Mongoose Pro" cable). A TS subscription is more, depending on whether you get the two day or full year access.

Other unsupported options include chi-com clone cables and other manufacturer OBD cables - all of which suffer some shortcomings in programming, but basically work alright for reading data.
