I just purchased my first Prius a 2008 Model with rear camera and Nav, 113k for 12500 plus tax tag and title.

Runs good althouh I will need a starting battery as the dealer left something on and had to jump it, and I only had one smart key I also have a lot of scratched in the vehicle but I was going to get it repaired for about 700.00 from a friend who owns a body shop.

So being that thisis my first Prius how did I do?

Sounds good! Are you happy! If so that is all that matters. H

I agree w/ HaroldW. If you're happy, that's all that matters. You will drive yourself crazy looking at what others paid. I think you did great. After all, you got a Prius!!!! :)

Doesn't sound like too bad of a deal overall as long as you can get the problems you talked about taken care of.

dealerships are businesses, that means they buy low and sell high so its only natural to feel a little ripped off whenever you trade in a car or buy a car from a dealership rather than a private party sale with an individual.

if this was from a toyota dealership who put the prius through a 100+ point inspection with their prius expert who knows what to look for in a prius and replaced what needed replacing than you did just fine.

bought my 2005 prius without nav, with 50k miles on it back in 2008 for $18,000. Yours sounds like a better deal.

For that price I would have held out for another key. That new key might cost you over $200. I you loose your one and only key then it might cost 400 or $500 to get your car running again.

You paid a decent price. I just looked locally. I saw slightly better, and I saw much worse, so you did ok.

Not sure I'd pay to get scratches repaired unless they are really bad and/or you don't think you can do something yourself, but you'd be amazed at what a little reading online about dealing with scratches, along with an hour of your time and some oem paint touch up can do. I had a lot of scratches in my new Prius (my fault) and am still surprised how good a job I did painting over them.

I don't know how much '08's normally go for, but we paid $7,700 for our '05 and it has the #6 package, with 126,023 miles on it.

We bought it private party though, I imagine if we got it through a dealership we would have paid at least $3k more. The good thing is, is that you were able to get a Prius and that you're happy with it.

    Looks sharp!
