Re: Hello Toyota...Feature requests... You do know PriusChat is not frequented by Japanese Toyota employees, right? There are some US Marketing folks, but they could not even stop the naming disaster that is the Prius v. So Toyota does not read this space and those that do cannot change anything.
Re: Hello Toyota...Feature requests... Jimbo, I think some of the Guests to PriusChat are Top Toyota Engineers keeping track of the success of the Plug-In Prius and gleening our results and wishes for the next update !!! What ELSE should I think ???
I hate the color choices on the PIP. What I wanted was the Sandy Beach Metalic but Toyota dropped that for the 2012 model year. They really need Black, Red (I actually prefer the Salsa on the 2004-2005 to the Barcelona Red on the current cars). I think that they should include homelink in the base model, or at least have it as an option on the base model. I Had to cancel my order due to loosing my job so I haven't had a chance to drive a PIP yet but I'm sure that when I do I will come up with some other items. Noel
Blind spot assist Parking assist Solar moon roof option Real Leather as an option And I agree with those who mentioned having beige as an option for the interior color . . .
A bigger battery with more range - something in the 50 mile range. Better ICE engine isolation, maybe a way to lockout ICE from even starting in the first place. Better climate control so that you don't have to fire up the ICE in order to heat/defog the cabin. Better i-pod integration. Every time I connect my i-phone, the system thinks I want to play music from the device and automatically starts playing.
Yes...Like this one Yes....Like this one Yes....Like this one. Yes....Like this one. Wow Laslier....I am just gonna get you to come up with all my good ideas from now on!!!
I think that's a reasonable thing to do and I personally find it convenient. If you don't want it to automatically start playing, you can just turn the audio system off.
The day Apple uses a standardized interface I'll agree to this. Until then, why should I pay licensing fees to a company whose products I don't own?
Mine does something funky with pandora. Sometimes after starting the car and starting up pandora the music plays from the phone speaker, not the car speakers. Hopefully an update can fix this because the only way I have found to correct this is to shut the whole car off and restart and even then it doesn't always work. EVO 4G
A seemingly insignificant item, but how much extra would it cost to knurl the knobs or put some rubberized material on the radio knobs? Our 2010 had those same smooth knobs and I hate them; very cheap feeling and not 'finger friendly' at all. Anyone come up with a suitable substitute?
I totally agree, Radio.. it was one of the first things I noticed driving off the dealer lot. Not only do the knobs feel cheap, they dont turn "smoothly".. like there is resistance to the turning motion. I've always equated that "knob resistance" to cheap home stereo equipment.
How 'bout a real-time speed indication on the GPS? Garmin has that and I really like it. It doesn't exaggerate the speed, like the speedo does, and I know at any point what the speed limit is, in case I missed the sign. Very handy!
Beige interior.....check Solar roof..........check Moon roof..........check Blind spot assist..check (there is a fairly huge blind spot on either side of the rear window.) A more intuitive display interface that better shows exactly what we are using to power the car at any given time. The current display is ok, but all you engineers and rocket scientists seem to have a better grasp of it than us mere mortals, but trust me when I say that we would really like to know what's going on. And wouldn't it be oh so cool if two phones could somehow connect, although obviously only one could answer, at the same time? And, btw, how does the car decide which of two phones to connect with when me and my significant other sit in the car at the same time? It always seems to connect with the phone of the driver, but that can't be, right?
