that I could probably google and find out, but you guys are quick and experts. Is the navigation system part of Entune? How about the fuel prices thing? Those are the only things that I think I would use. Just wondering if that (maps and fuel prices) is standard in the car or if it'll cost after the initial 3 years.
If any one could answer this as well, i would be greatful. I want the C4 with the Nav and entune but i want to know if the SirusXM will pull all the traffic data and fuelprices or is that the Entune phone app that does that? dont want to have to use all my BW up on my data plan.
Here is the link for most of your questions: Connect with your Toyota First 3 year are free, you just pay for your cell phone data, after three-years of complimentary access, Entune users can elect to continue their access to Entune apps and/or data services for a monthly access fee. Info is here: Entune Account
I had looked at that before I posted, but still wasn't sure. Looks like fuel prices is part of entune, but the navigation system is not? Or is NavTraffic the navigation system? I can't tell what is standard and what is additional apps.
Well if you get Entune to work, please let the rest of us know what you did! So far I have heard of Data Overages on your cell plan, ouch, lack of quality on Pandora, oww, and when you are in motion, many of the functions are locked out! Sad! My wife picks up her HyCam next week, with Entunes! I have been slowly bracing her to not get her excitement level too high, but even I am getting bogged down with this stuff! I will have to get my hands on the wife's car next week, With Entunes tied to your cellphone data plan, which my wife does not even have, this will be interesting! More to follow...
I have it- I couldn't ever get Pandora to sync for some reason. I have an unlimited data plan, so that isn't an issue for me. Yes, it's supposed to not let you mess with it while you are driving, but it did let me today. I'm still just trying to figure out what is part of entune and what isn't.
Fuel, Traffic, Bing all interface with the Nav...very cool features. Nav is standalone it does have gas stations under POI (Points of Interest) but for fuel prices, I think you need the Entunes link. Same for traffic and Bing. It's worth the hassle of getting it setup. On the price, three years from now, I wouldn't worry about it. That's a long time, really long time in internet years.
Jeng, Here's how I understand it. Someone correct me if I am wrong. The navigation system is free, always. HD radio, Bluetooth hands free phone or music connection, iPod and USB thumb drive hookup, voice command system - all free always. Sat radio - free for three months. Currently $14.95/month thereafter. All Entune Internet Apps (Bing, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Movie Tickets, Open Table) and Data Services (fuel prices, weather, stocks, sports, traffic) - free for three years, although both use your smartphone's data plan minutes and bandwidth. So if your plan has any limits, there might be overage charges if you exceed them. After three years, it breaks into two paid plans - $5.00/month for Apps only, and $5.00/month for Data Services only. At least that's the plan, but who knows what it will be in three years. Prices for Data Services are different if you have the Premium HDD Navigation with Entune, but I dont think that's in any of the C packages. Hope I got that right because the web site and FAQ are really not that easy to wade through, at least in terms of what costs and what doesn't.
You have to go to the Entune site and link your Pandora account. Make sure you choose high quality in the app or it will sound terrible.
I don't know if this may be your specific problem, but if you have an iPhone, you have to make sure that you use an original (Apple) usb cable. I had problems with entune when I first had my car and brought it back to the dealership. Long story short, is that there was a service bulletin saying that you need an Apple (may be able to use Belkin) usb cable. It was something about the data transfer rates. The other thing to try is to reboot your iPhone: 1. Reset the iPhone by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time. 2. Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it. 3. Wait until the white Apple logo appears. 4. When this happens, you can let go - the iPhone is rebooting. A lot of times this clear up any issues you may have. Good Luck!!!
