It's been three days since I topped off my tank in my Plug-In and I have been running almost entirely in EV Mode. Today, I had gone 153 miles so I topped off my tank again. The pump clicked off at 0.37 gal. I squeezed the pump handle two more times and got the gas up to 0.49 gal. That comes out to 312 MPG. When I entered it into Fuelly, it did not register the MPG. The last time it did when it was 112 MPG. I guess 312 MPG is way out of range of what Fuelly will accept.
I believe its the high MPG (though maybe a small fill is also a problem). My last tank was 3698.18696 miles on 8 gallons (461MPG) and while it took the ODO milage and gallons, it refuses to include it in my overall stats or show a MPG or miles for that tank (https://www.fuelly.com/driver/drinnovation/volt?fu=2483350 fill #5) Other volt users had the same problem. I've written to them before but its not a priority and probably there are so few volts. Three days ago I went 112 miles on 0.99 gal and it registered on Fuelly at 112.7 MPG. But today when I went 153 miles on 0.49 gal, it did not register the MPG on Fuelly.
Here is the reply I got from Paul Pausch at Fulley Yes, it is rejecting an MPG that high. In the past that has always been due to a data entry error. So we'll probably need to revisit the limits for some vehicles. But as we mentioned in that thread, MPG is alone isn't a great statistic for electric vehicles. It's not a good way to compare them with others. So we'll have to discuss this. In the meantime, you might be better off using voltstats.net (as you mentioned you were). Fuelly isn't currently set up to support mileage that high. -- pb
Why do you top it off like that? I relish the fact that I can now avoid going to the gas station for over three weeks (while driving over 1500 miles).
Maybe they shaw you posted a tank with 184mpg on the MPG spreadsheet (nice job!) and wanted to, for a brief moment, have the best tank posted.
When I drove from Tucson to Phoenix to Dallas on the Interstates I had the cruise set on 80 mph. I only got 43.7 mpg going 70-80 for that 1300+ miles. So I want to get my average MPG up. My ODO is now at 1855. I've burned 32 gal of gas. So now I'm at 1855/32 = 57.97 mpg.
