The last time I tried, it crashed after 10 to 15 mins. BTW, Telnet is in the Torque Scan plugin. It is a Telnet server... not a client as I thought.

Hmm.. I have a list of PIDs it scanned. Its not complete since i quit early, buy there are some that got responses (although they look familiar). I'll post it when I'm in front of the computer.

I saw the telnet server. If I try the "at ma" in a telnet session, will it give me "everything" right away? I may be able to try that on Thursday.

Here are the results from the TorqueScan PID scanning that I did for about 15 minutes. I dont know if there's anything useful in there. Is there a specific range I should be looking for? When I did the PID scan, I just left it in "auto"

    Hi Tracksyde,

I believe the offset for #99 may be wrong, that is why it didn't work. 2101 is a very long msg block and if there are new sensors added for the production model, the msg. might be shifted. I can get it to work but I need the header+data. Could you send me both the 015B and 2101 using the Test PID method?

    Vincent

Ok, I will get it for you tomorrow.

EDIT: Vincent, 2101 was in my PID scan from today.. is this what you need?

    Command: 2101 response:

Something like this but this is from 7E0, you need to change the ECU to 7E2.

    Thanks,

    Vincent

You need to save Vincent's latest PHV spreadsheet from Google Docs. Save it as a CSV. But then you need to edit it in Notepad because some of the values get translated as exponential values.

Or you can use my CSV which I already fixed.

Save it to your device. Then in Torque, hit the Menu button and go into the Settings. In there, there will be an option for External PIDs (forgot the exact wording). Click that then load them from the location you saved the CSV.

I'm writing this from memory since my tablet is in my car right now and its pouring rain. But if that's not clear enough let me know.

If you decide to use my file, save it as a CSV (I had to rename it to a .TXT file because PC wont allow me to attach a CSV)

    Thanks Tracksyde:
It's done, it took me a while to convert the file to csv but it is already loaded in to Torque.
Tomorrow I will start experimenting with it.
Next will be mounting the screen behind the steering wheel some how.

l Oh, man this a good question.
I have a Gentouch Augen since a couple of years and this piece of crap decided not to connect to "Marker" any longer, seems that has been a conflict with the manufacturer and soft developers. Besides the Touch sensor is resistive, meaning that you have to "press" to write or get an action from the screen and NO Bluetooth.
Long story sort, I went back to eBay and found a 7" tablet with BT, WiFI, dual core processor, capacitive screen, good non glare/reflection (can be read outdoors) factory refurbish with NO telephone functions for $135 shipping included. Just what I was looking for Torque in the PiP.

You can look at those with 21xx, others like 22xx, 24xx, etc are for other manufacturers' specific PIDs, e.g. GM, Ford, Mazda, etc. It will only be useful if you don't know what you 're looking for. However, since it scan all other manufacturers' specific PIDs as well, it will take a very long time. Besides, it seems only scanning for 7E0, other ECUs may not be scanned, can't really tell from the 15 minutes short scan.

Thanks Tracksyde! The PID is correct. It shows 55.68% as compared to 55.29% with 2 minutes interval. Are you having any Adapter error count? Anyway, 015B with only 3 bytes msg. will have a quicker response than 2101 with longer 24 bytes msg. I suggest you stick to using 015B.

Guys, can you, please, test something for me. If you insert two custom PID entries with the same PID value, but different things with different equations - can you use both entries on the Realtime Information Screen and/or in Track Recorder Plug-In?

I think, that the app has a limitation of only be able to process one PID even though it lets to insert more than one PID entry with the same PID numbers.

Thanks, Vincent. I think the TorqueScan isnt going to work anyway. I tried it again a few days ago and it also locked up (like USB said). So I think I'll just try the "AT MA" on my laptop using the built-in Telnet server in TorqueScan.

When I tested those two PIDs, I was parked (car was On, but not Ready). I don't think I am getting any Adapter errors. But now that you mention it, I dont know if there is someplace I can check for an error log or something. But generally, no errors. Everything seems to work OK. I don't have the "faster communication" thing enabled. I think having that enabled I did have some issues, but I cant totally remember now either.

So.. can you give me an example of what to enter as the two custom PIDs? I didnt think any duplicate PIDs existed in the spreadsheet? Are you creating your own PID?

If you give me an example of what to use/enter, I'll try it on my setup.

Sure. Try to enter FR Wheel Speed and FL Wheen Speed. You will be able to add them to the custom PID entries, but you won't be able to select them in the Realtime Information Screen or Track Recorder Plug-In.

I've emailed the developer and he said he'll fix it.
