Just wondering if anyone with access to the TIS service manual can paste on here the procedure to disable the seat belt beeper on a Prius C II? I am wondering if it is like the regular Prius where you can just push some buttons and do it, or if you need to have the special computer that the dealer uses? The reason I want to do so is I deliver newspapers. When I have the papers on the passenger seat, the beeper will keep going off if I'm going more than about 12 MPH. Other than this option my only choice is to fasten the belt behind the seat every morning. Thanks for any info.
My dealer said it was possible, but they would not do it for legal reasons, although they did switch my reverse beeper to "Beep Once" instead of "continuous". One possible workaround for your situation is to track down a replacement belt and cut off the actual belt portion so you can leave it plugged in on your passenger seat. edit: pretty sure you can get a seatbelt extender for free from your dealer (says so in the manual), that should work.
yeah.. i turned off both the driver and passenger seat belt warning on mine.. used the Toyota TechStream laptop from the dealership.
If u have OBDII device and Torque u can turn it off.. Just tested it on passenger side and it works..
The dealer told me they can turn both the seat belt beeper and the screaming meanie backup beeper but I'd have to pay 80 bucks... really??? Sounds like h.s. to me. How can I take care of it?
