I just bought a new 2012 Prius C on March 25. So far I have yet to fill up and I have 2 bars left on my gas gage, I have driven 450 miles so far and have been averaging about 57-58 MPG, I drive a combination of city and highway. So far this car is great, i love the MPG compared to my other car. Has anyone noticed that the Range Mileage doesn't exactly match your MPG? Right now with 2 bars left it says that my Criuse Range is 40 miles which obviously doesn't make sense on almost 60 MPG.
I made a 17 mile trip the other day and (freeway and city) I got 59.5 mpg. I'm still breaking it in but getting very high 40's, even up and over the big hill on my commute. Much better than my old 2005 prius!
I just got a 2012 Prius C Dealer filled it up, and still at full fuel bars. But even with a few trips, still above 50 mpg each. 25 mile round trip to the dealer and back (to get my old car) I got 59.5 mpg I would have had over 60, but I live on a Main st and I turned the corner on it so I had to give a little gas to get up to speed, but only for 1/2 city block. That little 5-7 second gas lost over 1 mpg.
Just did my first fill-up: 412 miles on 8.35 gallons = 49.34 mpg The display reads 51.3 mpg for the same period. This is a mixture of 2-4 mile neighborhood trips, 12.5 mile cross-town commutes, and one 80-mile freeway trip. Eco mode is always on.
Just filled up for the 3rd time and averaged 51mpg. This is a combination of city and highway driving.
I have had mine for only three days. My highest short drive was 57.8 mpg. So today HAPPY EASTER I loaded my wife and three teenage daughters into the car, plus all the food & easter baskets etc. Drove with the A/C on while charging my cell phone and listing to my wifes iphone through the sound system and in our 44 mile one way trip I got 50.1 going and 51.0 comming back. Awesome ride!
I am new to priuschat and I will be getting my super white C 4 next week! I am a technician for Toyota so I will be doing the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) on my own car that I am buying from my dealership. The car will be coming in either tomorrow or Tuesday and then I get to mess around with it. I will hopefully be closing the deal by the end of the week. I'm very excited!
I'm also new to priuschat. Picked up a red Prius c 2 last Thursday night. Have about 120 miles on it since pickup (480 total) and the fuel gauge is down just two spots. My primary commute is 9.5 miles on mostly city streets and parkways. (max 40 mph in a couple of stretches) On that drive I can be in EV mode for 50% of the time with mileage indications of mid 50s to one 72. Will be more precise in setting the trip when I fill it up. (That might take awhile.
Went 397.1 miles on this tank using 8.319 gallons of gas which equals 47.73 mpg's. Car computer indicated 49.9 so approximately 4% off this time.
I just read back through these posts to find the ones that compared the calculated mpg at fill-up to the indicated mpg on the dashboard computer. Based on this handful of samples, the computer is running high by .25 to 2.25 mpg.
I got mine on April fools day.. I'm only getting about low 40's mpg. The car had 38 miles on it when I got it from the dealer and I suspect when they did the dealer trade, whoever drove it from one dealership to the other was beating the hell out of it because it said 31 mpg when I first got it. I have about 270 miles on it so far.
I am 170 miles into the first tank. Only 2 fuel bars are missing. I just drove over 20 miles today. I took the highway half with cruise control, then half with my foot and got about 55MPG Then on the way home, I had some time to spare until I had to get the kids from school, so I took semi back roads home. * just a note, temp was below 60 F today, so the ICE had to warm up after starting....took advantage of that also. 30 seconds, I was driving and using the ICE power! Check out the results! And I do use the EV on starts and also after getting up to speed, and cruising. When the ICE comes on due to needing acceleration, I take advantage and go easy on the pedal, but also slowly gain speed to coast. I also ALWAYS remove my foot from the pedal after getting to normal speed and then slowly depress it to stay at speed limit.
pick up mine yesterday have drove about 165 miles some city some expressway avg is 50.1 still have half tank of fuel so I will check it when I fill up so far I like it better than my ford fusion that I traded in.
I drive home in L.A. frwy traffic about 35mph slow & go and then cross town to my house. I could not believe the numbers 11.6 miles, 24 mins and 68.7 mpg So cool. Later I had to run to the store, 2.1 miles 7 mins at 70.7 MPG OMG! I do not miss my old 4x4 pickup.. [ame]http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x365/brick2006/mms_picture2.jpg[/ame]
I'm also in Atlanta and considering a C. I commute from Coweta County to Marietta - about 44 miles one way. Usually about 30 miles of I-85/I-285 then the last 14 miles stop and go until I get to work. What's your drive consist of? I would hope for your mileage. Thanks!
i averaged 54.7xxx and the trip calc was around 56.x it wasnt a full tank used, i was in the 400 range but wanted to get gas to see what my mileage was and plus it started going up again so filled up sooner before it went higher next weekend. I drive 30 miles one way on hills. hoping with lighter rims to hit a consistent 60mpg
