I purchased some body side moldings from JuicedHybrid (prior to seeing Prius Chat store or I would have given them a shot). They are OK but they are white not Blizzard Pearl and it is noticeable.

Have any of the Blizzard Pearl cult members gotten body side moldings and how well did they match the Pearl?

I can pawn the White vs. Pearl off as a feature not a bug but I'd pay to fix the bug and get a new set that are actually of the Pearl persuasion.

    Thanks for the lead.

Did you put them on? Have any sunny side pix (you could post them on the Introducing the Blizzard Brigade thread)?

Hard to tell from the pic, it looks like they have a chrome insert. I got the Toyota body side molding which is a chrome strip above the rocker and then added the door body side molding as the Toyota ones provide no ding protection, just shine. Wonder if chrome on the side molding would be too much bling?

Yeah, my brother in law owns a high end body shop- I brought them over and we put them on in under an hour. Since they're tapered- you have to find the center-line and mark the car, then tape the moldings on using that center-line- then use blue tape to mask the line created by the bottom of the molding. Remove moldings again and use blue tape as your guide in your permanent application. He also prepped the door with wax and grease remover. It's a two person job if you want to do it 100% perfect. We measured the front and rear center-line height on the first side then did the other side to make sure the two sides were even.
Sorry, no pix yet- too busy w/a major patio project at home.

No chrome insert- must be just a reflection you see in the ad photos. The moldings are actually painted with the Blizzard Pearl paint- you can clearly see the metallic speckles in the moldings.

FWIW- adding these moldings and the Euro-style mud guards really sports up the car.. of course the 17" wheels on the five help too :D

Those are nice. I looked through the thread but it doesn't say where he got them.

Same place as the aforementioned link. The 2012 side body is unchanged from 2010/11 so yes, these moldings will fit.

    A $119 lesson.

Now I have to decide between the 2011 Prius moldings and the Rav4 side moldings. I think they look really good on the Prius. They match the car's wedge shape and the match the taper of the chrome rocker cover which I have.

    Thanks for everyone's help.

Don't like them. They're rather distracting.

Also, I don't think you should pair the chrome rockers and side moldings. The two together add too much to the body. Contrary to popular belief, moldings won't provide significant protection against dings as you can still get them above and below the moldings due to varying height of vehicles.

Gotta keep up with the neighbors. The Audis, Lexus and Merc's in our lot all have HUGE body side moldings, perfectly color co-ordinated. The Merc's have chrome inserts.

I like the Rav-4's over the factory ones because the Rav's are flat. The factory Prius one's on Scorpions look to be ridged giving them a more complex look.

I do have the lower chrome molding so I think the flatter Rav's will look better. I like the look of Allannde's PIP.

Confirmed- Nine Scorpions moldings are identical to the ones I ordered from Sparks.
I prefer their angular look rather than the rounded look to the other moldings. To me the Gen III is overall angular, the Gen II is more rounded/curved.
... to each his own :D

Looks great. Now, don't make the same mistake some people do like adding the chrome lower rocker moldings, which together with the side moldings makes the side too busy.

If you mean the chrome strip along the rocker area below the doors, that is what Toyota sells as "Body Side molding" for 2012. On the back door, Allannde's is a PIP so that may be piece of bling specific to the PIP. You could probably buy it from parts.

I was expecting the mid door plastic things and got the chrome strip instead as part of my "deal".

I liked it and just got the Rav-4 Blizzard Pearl side molding so mine will look just like Allannde's PIP in the pic.

I noticed in your pics that there's a raised middle line running through the bodyside moddings. After taking a closer look at NineScorpions' car, I noticed them now. Thanks for the upclose pics. I can't see them on sparks' website. It was disconcerting when I first saw them but now theyre growing on me. Will probably have to order soon.
