Man, looking at the toyota Japan site, their PiP has so many more options. Many of which i wish i could have. Besides the Plug lock, i really like the internal illumination they offer: http://toyota.jp/priusphv/dop/image/001_p_001/in/13-p01.jpg Some of their other stuff is pretty nifty too: toyota.jp Æ’IÆ’Å Æ’WÆ’iƒ‹ƒAÆ’NÆ’ZÆ’TÆ’Å Â[
You can get the interior illumination kit it on eBay TOYOTA GENUINE PRIUS 2 WAY MODE INTERIOR FLOOR LIGHT LAMP UNIT - JDM ZVW30 09-12 | eBay
My favorite way cool (but never delivered to the U.S.) item is the 'signaling' side view mirror - some with anti-fogging/warming feature, plus 'down-light' ... some with auto fold-in feature . . . . I do like me some fancy mirrors:
If there are specific things you want, often Danny [email protected] can get them in the Priuschat Shop. Alternatively, Sigma Automotive is THE place to find JDM add-ons here in the US. World's Largest Prius-dedicated Accessory Shop :: Sigma Automotive If they don't have it now, email them and they'll get it.
If the charger cable lock is compatible with our PIP, I will definitely get it. But I wonder who can test it?
That's awesome. In Japan, you have an option to have the steering wheel placed on the passenger side.
We have the turn signal built into our door mirrors here in the UK (gen3). I think it's a cool and useful feature. Maybe you can order them from a UK dealers - easy as they speak the language. If you go down this route, they should remove 20% vat (sales tax) from the sale if you're outside Europe. Not sure if they have to come in a whole unit including mirror (could be expensive) or whether you can just get the backing with light. Our mirrors are also heated when you put the rear window defog on. Perhaps the wiring is there on the US models to enable you just to plug in? Don't touch them when they've been on though - they get HOT, not warm, HOT.
That's the kind of stuff tha comes stock on the Lexus. Lighting . . . . No wonder folks are willing to pay an extra $10,000 .
http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...bo-lights-signal-parking-courtesy-lights.html The ones all the guys on the forum are buying are about $165 shipped. By all accounts the paint match is perfect. You can get the authentic Toyota ones off of eBay as well, but they're priced much higher (near $300 if I recall). This just replaces the outer "shell" with one that has the built-in LED. Sigmaautomotive.com sells the folding mirrors, if I recall correctly, but they were also expensive. I have also seen the "kit" (on eBay, I think) that includes all the parts to make the side view mirrors tilt down when the car is in reverse. I thought that was kind of cool too. One thing I saw on the Toyota Japan website for the PiP is a cargo carrier that, when not in use, unfolds and does a pretty good job of covering most of the rear hatch area (like a rear cargo mat). It was about $200 (yen-dollar), but may be worth the added functionality (pic attached)
