Figured I would finally post something. I've been lurking here for the last month or so and picked up a 2012 Prius three a couple weeks ago. I just filled up for the first time on Saturday, 470 miles, just under 10 gallons, just a hair over $40. Not too bad. I came from a 2007 Toyota 4Runner with the 4.7L V8 4x4. Was averaging in the city about 13-15 mpg and Hwy about 17-19 mpg. I would typically get about 300 miles on 18-20 gallons which was costing me at least $80 at the pump. Thanks to everyone for the info on window tinting, and etc. I got my windows tinted last week, Llumar CTX 40% front doors/mini windows, 15% rear doors/mini windows and hatch glass. It Looks great!! I also installed the Euro Style mud flaps ordered from the Prius chat store. Decided to remove the rear wheels for install and in the process found out that the stock black wheels look awesome compared to the wheel covers. This is the first time ever owning a car so it has taken some getting used too, especially the lack of visibility trying to make an unprotected turn with large vehicles on either side. I've owned SUV's and Pickups. A couple pics. Hope you like.
Nice tints! I'm going to have our 'new' 2010 tinted next week. So many of us converting to a Prius, Toyota must be happy. Truly a unique and impressive vehicle.
Interested to see how the black alloy's look. Could you take a side pic with the sun shining on that side? And post it on the Introducing the Blizzard Brigade thread? Thanks.
Congrats! Just a photography tip. Try and take a picture on the car with the sun behind you so you eliminate shadows cast by the car. This helps bring out the sparkle in the paint as well. Here is an example of a side shot with the sun slightly behind so that most shadows are removed from the important parts.
Congrats on the purchase. Good tip from F8L, but even this shot has some photography "don'ts" in it. As you can see from the shot above, it looks like the owner has installed an aftermarket antenna on the passenger side hood area, going old school on that mod. I don't understand why the blocks of wood have been added to the front and rear, perhaps as a damper mechanism to reduce vibrations that cause rattles in the cabin??? Still waiting for that avatar update, F8L....
OP it's better, but you still can't make out the pattern of the wheels. It's mainly bc the wheels are black. I think you need the angle of the sunlight shining directly at it to get a better shot.
