you can use aftermarket BMS along with enginer BMS. I used MiniBMS for charging discharging, and balancing and the Enginer BMS for displaying battery and converter status.

What is the most recent (currently selling) "enginer" "battery pack" image apperance.? I assume by the "website" they are the "real force" lifepo4 pouch inside a ss box with anderson connector because website images are ss box "pouch" and yellow "prismatic" data sheet.

Yes, they can be carefully removed.
Often it is a frustrating process, though.
And certain cells will generally only fit/reach their original locations.

Need to be carefull not to rip the cell tabs. Sometimes the case screws have to be drilled out.

Looking at this link. It may be possible to replace all the RFE cells with Headway cells.
    Lithium Ion Battery pack LiFePO4, 24v 80Ah - Plug-in Autos

    They claim to fit 64 Headway cells 38120L 10AH into a metal box 382mm x 248mm x 147mm.

You would need to insulate all the inside of the box with electrical insulation paper. Use thread-lock Loctite for the cell screw electrical connections so they cannot vibrate out over time. And use foam sheets as a filler for a snug fit

    Hi Tex,
No, Powin is not an installer.

I have been to their site. They are the import warhouse that got stuck with the extra Enginer inventory of systems because Enginer owed them money. You know more about the Enginer system than Powin knows.

Currently they are willing to sell the systems with no warranty or any garentee, and that at a price that is higher than the systems are worth. Also they will sell you replacement pouches that are not designed to fit in the battery box.

    Thanks,
    Dan Lander

Is the place in Winston still in business? As you know Enginer went out of business and the place that did my install is non-viable at this point. I need someone to honor my warranty--I still have another year and I have a charging issue right now. You had much much better luck that I've had and it sounds like your installer was a big reason (they may have known how to work around the problems with the kit). The guys that did my install tried but in all fairness, it was their first install on the Enginer line. I'll search Greencycle but if you have any info, please let me know. My email is [email protected]. Thanks.

    NorTex,
Yes, Powin can sell the remaining stock of Enginer systems to people, but it is more expensive than Enginer ever sold them for, plus there is no warranty or guarantee.

    Greg Wilson,
No one will honor the Enginer warranties in the US.

I am on my second year with version 6 enginer. Recent m57.5 mpg to 69 mpg over the same terrain for past 6 wks. I installed hankookn tires on front and otherwise did nothing.milliage has in creased to 69 mpg over last 3 fillups I HAD A LITTLE TROUBE TO START BUT now going smoothly.I often get trouble codes but easily clear with scan guage The codes often appear after sitting in hot sun for hours If soc gettsv too high codes appear but that is my fault.Could hankook tires make the difference in mpg?

No one ever honored my warranty and after 1 bad cell replacement at my expense, I'm now looking at 3 more bad cells. Jack's a nice guy but Enginer should be avoided as should any company that refuses to stand behind their product and warranty.
I can't even find the replacement cells to fix my kit. I'm told that the worthless bms is the issue--I've found a replacement bms but no cells.

Jack's Enginer company has not been in business for a few years.
A different company is using the Enginer name.
You have lots of cell choices, but they will not fit in the existing form factor.

Basically you have an orphaned product. No support. No warranty.

Feel free to call me to discuss options.
