Replacing Inverter on 2001 Prius

    My Hybrid System Warning Light is on. The dealership already reset it, but the light came back on. The dealer says "they think the inverter needs replacing." How do I know if that's correct? My car still starts.

    You should ask this in the correct sub forum. When you do state the maintenance codes read out by your dealer.

    Assuming that this thread gets moved, don't buy a new inverter. Used ones are much cheaper.

    Hi I had the same problem. What I discovered is that the inverter cooling pump was not working. To check this simply open the invereter cooling resivior you should see some sort of turbulence when the pump is working.
