The last part. I get to 45 and then get fully off the pedal to go into electric and then apply just enough to maintain or even slow lose a bit of speed.

I like that detailed write up..Thanks. I try to do some of those things, and I will try some more techniques tomorrow on my commute to work.

Ok, I got the Injen intake today. installed, and sounds great for about 5 seconds or so...if floored. With the CVT transmission, you can't truly unlock a ton of power...but that's a prius. I don't have any mpg changes..but I should in the next couple of weeks. Here are a couple pics:[IMG]

the challenge now is to drive the car the same as before and consider conditions to see if you have any differences at all in results. You may even have to run some tanks with it on and then go back to stock to see.

FYI...my current tank is 49mpg (CONS minus 3) and my average speed is 34mph. I simply do not have enough interstate driving to raise my average up much more. I might see 35 or 36mph average...but that would be the max.

so the dealership gave me a gas slip to fill up...and since it's free gas...I had to buy premium..at $4.57 a gallon...lol! Figure it's the only tank of premium I will have...and with the intake, why not. No change in the first 20 miles. Did get 45 mpg doing mostly freeway driving though.

On a car like the Prius you may actually get lower mpg using premium gas. The benefit of premium is for cars that use forced induction or are tuned for the higher octane. It actually has less energy in it then 87 octane gas.

Awesome!! Very interested in doing this too. Thanks for sharing.

Do you have any MPG #'s yet?

    Do you notice more Torque??
