Not to make light of real illnesses that real people suffer, I am clearly developing an addictive illness here! I cannot focus at work; I need a PIP chat fix at least every two hours; I can't seem to get enough; I need more and more to feel satisfied. I'm afraid if my PIP doesn't get here soon, I really will need some sort of support group! According to 'my' Toyota page, which has now become the proverbial 'watched pot', my baby is in 'transit to port' as of 3/12. After combing through these thousands of posts, I have determined that my car is likely enjoying a trans-Pacific cruise aboard the Indiana Highway, which doesn't dock in Benicia until 3/28.I'm heading to my dealer tomorrow just to verify all this, but if anyone out there has any better information, or more information, or SWAG information, or ANY information, please share!

I'm pretty sure you're right about INDIANA HIGHWAY.
Your dealer should be able to tell you for sure what ship your car is on.
Indiana Highway's ETA in Benicia is 2012-03-27 11:00 (UTC)
PDT is UTC-7 so that's 4 AM PDT on the 27th.

I called my dealer this evening and spoke to my salesperson. They claim to know even less than me! Either they are the empty set...two brackets with nothing in between, or they are a complex equation, impossible for me to figure out. I think I'm on my own here.

You need to find out who the person is that accesses the Toyota database. Usually only one person at the dealership. Then talk to him/her. They can look in the database and should be able to tell you what ship your car is on. Don't let those other people there b.s. you. You just need to know what question to ask and find out who you need to talk to.

I think my Prius is on the Indiana Highway with yours and a bunch of others set to hit the greater Sacramento area. I have the same shipping date as a few others in our area, it seems. My dealer is telling me to expect the car at the end of this month to the first week of April.

OTOH, I was told by my dealer, that PiPs will be coming to EU late 2012 even though the Toyota EU page states 'early 2012'.
That disappointed me. Firstly, our 4.000 EUR government subsidy for this year may run out by that time. It blows even more, because for getting it late 2012, you'd have to order in it august. It may happen, that in august, there are subsidies left, but when the car arrives in november or december, they run out and you're left with the car and without the subsidy.
Secondly, the first thing I'd have to do is to install winter tires, since they're obligatory from nov. 15th to march 15th, and leave default summer tires installed to wait for 5 months and the put them back on and they'd also age some.

I really don't understand Toyota thought process, since we're paying 9$/gallon gas here and we have higher incentives (4k EUR). If Prius' market share is lower than in the US, it's their own fault. You can't have sales if you're not offering them.

It's like 'EV don't sell well in the EU'. Really? Why not? Because they're not sold anywhere or they're stupidly expensive compared to the US price. Mitsubuish iMiev for 35.000 EUR (45.500 US$)? Nissan Leaf in 4 selected countries at 38.000 EUR (49.900 US$)? Opel Ampera (Volt) not available?

Hi Jozo! Welcome to the cult, errr, I mean support group.

Good luck in getting more info out of your dealer. Someone at the dealer knows exactly what's going on with your car. With your order number, they should be able to pull up the info. You may need to talk to someone higher up on the food chain, like the general sales manager. Your other option is to call the customer care number for Toyota and tell them that your dealer isn't being helpful. That usually gets the dealer's undivided attention.

Welcome! I'll echo that it's well worth the wait.

My delivering dealer said that they had to ask the Toyota Regional Rep or some such official, for delivery dates and status updates. At some point they were able to pull this info up themselves on the dealer login and became more adept at answering questions. Of course I gave them a little gentle prodding......

Well thanks, fellow cult members! I am usually not shy about being a squeaky wheel for other people, so I'm not sure why I'm less assertive when it comes to my own issues. You all have given me the boost I needed to boldly go where no jozo has gone before - the sales manager's office. I plan on stopping in this weekend and requesting more, and better, and accurate information on my baby. I've bought many cars from this dealership, so they owe me the courtesy of a few computer keystrokes to look up my PIP, right?

I can empathize with your pain over this. It is severe, no doubt, so we need to use strong treatment: Dude, YOU GET TO LIVE IN EUROPE!!!! You get soccer instead of football, and really cool old buildings, and dramatically better beer. Is it really worth giving all that up just to get a Prius six months sooner? Of course not! Enjoy your wonderful european spring and summer, and when the cold winter winds begin to blow, you'll have your new car.

THANK YOU all for the advice and encouragement to assert myself with my dealer! I stopped by on my way to work this morning, hoping to catch someone during the quiet time before customers started swarming. Well, I found a salesman and told him about Priuschat and I sounded all full of authority. He did go into the computer, look up my baby, and confirmed that my car is, indeed, cruising on the Indiana Highway, with an ETA between 3/27 and 4/2. Additionally, they had their first 2012 car on the lot in Sea Glass Pearl, so I had my first look at my color. It ROCKS!!! Way better color than I expected! So, as far as getting a fix for my addiction goes, I am so high!
