So we stopped and looked at "C" last night. Dealer was closing down, so we did not get to play much. With our Gen III was parked next to "C" in quick look it appeared that out of 19" "C" lost comparing to Gen III about 13-14" were lost from steering wheel forward. There is less space in the trunk, and leg room in back, but not by much, really a a couple inches here and there. IMHO the huge shifter is just plain stupid, they should have put a console there like on Gen III or moved it to steering column. You could use that space to stash CDs, valet, phone, coins, etc not waste it on! The trunk cover is the cheesiest piece of cardboard I've seen in my life. Not fond of Gen III roll on tonneau cover but at least it is x100 better then the one on "C". We might stop today to see how easy to pack trunk and to take it for a spin. BTW it was III in hideous habanero, at least hideous under street light.
I was thinking about waiting for the Prius C just for the pricing. Shame is that at least for me they cheapened the interior over the regular Prius. At the price of the C, it should have been nicer IMO. In the end I am happy with the extra space and better looking interior.
In the same boat. The car it replaces will do for another year. BTW that was on rt 1 in Alexandria, YMMV
congrats, welcome to Prius family! you probably've seen the III habanero we're talking about out there on lot. What color is yours?
I got the silver C two. I wasn't really even paying attention to the other prii - I just wanted to look at the Prius c. There WAS a habanero Prius c three though. The sales manager asked if there was anything at all he could do to get me to consider it and I said no - I just really wasn't into the color. I wish they'd had the summer rain one - love that color. Unfortunately it wasn't even scheduled for delivery in the near future. The red ones were a month away but in transit.
yeah that's the one, I meant Prius C III, not Gen III, sorry. The Gen3 I drive is perl white. Silver isn't bad at all (I have a silver bike), looks sharp, does not fade and does not heat up as much when parked in full sun. The only complain it blends with road too much; not as big deal for the car, but of concern for motorcycle. Out of the colors they bring to US my pick would be either summer rain too or white, not sure which one, would have to see it in person. Perhaps the yellow they sell in japan, if they ever bring it here. :cheer2:
The habanero is a hit or miss color. Some think it's hideous, while some drool over it. I think it's unique and is an eye catcher...different from the boring colors out there. But hey, that's just me.
The summer rain color is very pretty. I saw one at our dealer when picking up our car on Saturday. I'm not a fan of blue cars, but that color is very nice.
I was at the dealer today looking to test drive the Prius C two but ended spending most of the time jumping in and out between the Prius C Two and 3Gen Prius Two. Price difference was less than 3 grand and I'm leaning towards the 3Gen Prius Two because of the better and roomier interior and the nicer body lines. The Prius C resembles more of the Yaris side than the Prius Family side. I'm still undecided but for sure my next car is going to be a Prius.
