All these mpg figures is making my
    head spin.

I just filled up our Prius and calculated
mpg was 45.13 mpg and indicated
    was 48.2 mpg.

Which is a lot better than most cars up here in rainy
    40 degree windy weather.

Please let me know if your MPG gauge is accurate.
On our Prius and thousands of other 2010's - 2012
reg Prius models of course, are
off about 3 - 3.5 mpg over reading.

I'm so glad I didn't change my color and have start over. I am also so very happy to have chosen the Clearwater Blue Metalica. My car is stunningly beautiful!

    It is worth the wait.

My first 45 miles around San Francisco tonight at average speed of 15 mph yielded 43 mpg. Not bad considering the rain and traffic. BTW, the car was readily available at the dealership. Still getting used to not hearing engine when I am driving.

Readily available at the dealership...really?! How much did you have to pay (if you don't mind me asking)?

    But only 43MPG???

Thanks for the update... But what happened to Gallons and kWr as they way people should report data.

    Assuming 2 Full charges = 6.2kWr (wall).
121MPG over 34 miles says it used .281 gallons
so that works out to 73MPGe overall. About what would expect on a 34 mile trip, which should be about 60% EV mode).

Publishing such a massive file with playback the speed of watching paint dry is not realistic. Keeping people's attention for just 5 minutes is a challenge.

    What do you suggest?

I've only had the car a few days and have been scrambling learn & collect as much as information as fast as I possibly can. Please be patient.

Also, it would be helpful if you provided a suggestion of how to actually present that data in a standard format.

While not directed at me... you can always have 2 videos ff and slow and then we can jump around.

No rush.. and part of that was just ribbing since you beat me up on the MPG thing. Funny how compelling it is to just use MPG.. it just feels good.

I'd hope for a format like i have in my signature,

Miles Gallons kWh(wall) Total Cost, MPGe MPG, MPF$ and $/mile

There are a few of us trying to push fuely to have something that can be used. Join in the conversation

Personally, I think electricity needs to be measured as it enters the vehicle, not as it's consumed by the vehicle. There are several reasons:
    1) The battery and charging circuitry consume electricity
    2) The vehicle generates electricity

At a minimum, some of us should log both figures for a few months, to ensure that the vehicle reports accurately. Maybe a Kill-A-Watt will do the job. Using a Kill-A-Watt solves the problem of metering usage when I charge at work.

I agree. Only factor in the electricity that was charged into the Pip from an outside source. Not the displayed EV/HV ratio. That ratio includes EV that was generated by gas, right, or does it? Interesting thought....the ratio bar graph shows the Ev side as a plug, but is that ratio factoring in only plug-in charge, or regen and synergy charge too?

Doesn't the Pip keep a tally of the KWh that are charged into it?

As drinnovation already wrote, make two of them - the ff one and the regular. If it's below 2GB file and less than 15 minutes long, than it's no problem to publish it on Youtube.
I did it without any problems (with my demo PiP) with 2 videos I posted here and I think it adds a dimension hearing sounds and all.

3.117 kWh was reported via ChargePoint app from my recharging at work yesterday.

3.19 kWh was reported by my Kill-A-Watt meter from my recharging at home last night.

Saying 3.2 is a full recharge is likely going to be the figure we'll end up using. My logging will include what the display in the car itself shows, per my choosing to reset per tank. My daily entries will just be a count: 1.0 for a full recharge, 0.5 for half, 2.0 for two recharges, etc.

And I'll respond with some teaser thumbnails...

And when you've only got a few seconds to grab someone's attention, it is a good infobit.

Both tolerances are exceeded. The videos tend to be close to 3 GB and the drives 25 to 35 minutes. Maybe someday I can segment them. But with the multi-day renders it currently takes, not a chance. I need a much faster computer.

I understand. I'm subscribed to your channel and I've already watched your PHV video and from ending information I calculated backwards (avg. speed, miles done), how long your journey takes.

I've been upset that my PiP arrives a month after the first ones, and now I see that it's simply The Plan at work. You needed to figure these things out before I can have one. It all makes sense now. :)

That is a pretty good additional charge (11.5 to 12.2) do you happen to remember if you kept your foot lightly on the brake for additional regen?? Looks like this car is perfect for neighborhood drives (you had 7 stops, counting Starbucks) I am anxious for mine to arrive. Good Priusing, or Good Pipping! :cheer2::cheer2:

This is what I have now for daily data:

It seems to be the most relevant (and convenient) to collect every single night. Any suggestions?

Also, keep in mind the per-tank data will contain greater detail.

Lastly, note that the screen with EV/HV ratio (shown in the post above) only displays whole numbers.

Finally, when consuming EV capacity from automatic HV due to travel at speeds higher than 100 km/h (62.1 mph) that is counted as HV miles.

Very nice...like the table view of the data, thanks -
