I just recently purchase my first 2012 Prius Three and so far it's been great on gas. However, today I had my wipers on full speed because of the rain here in Northern Cali and noticed that my car was swaying at the stop light. At first I thought it might be the wind but when I turn off the wipers the swaying went away. Turned them on full blast and the swaying came back. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?
I can feel it. These are larger, longer, heavier wipers than on any of my past cars. It is less noticeable at regular speed, so don't use the highest speed.
I have to use the highest speed at times or else I couldn't see the road ahead. I guess I can live with it. Just glad I didn't get a defective car.
Might be an aftermarket opportunity here... producing lighter wipers and wiper arms for Prius and other cars that swing around when wipers are on at full tilt.
That's an easy fix, there's a wiper on the rear to counteract the sway, just have to turn it on at the right time.:
