With all the airbags (9) including ones in the seat beneath your butt (I think), I wondering about whether seat covers might pose a problem. The manual is very explicit about not covering or leaning on airbags. Thoughts?
I am also concern about this issue since there are airbag in the seat. lol I will wait to see if there are some OEM seat cover?
Quality seat covers usually have provisions for seats with airbags. You may want to look at Wet Okole seat covers. It may be worth a call to see if they have anything available for your car yet.
Very practical solution. I need to get doggy seat covers as our dogs like to ride with us. 2001 Prizm (car's dead now) - big dog was so used to the car he would blow the horn whenever I stopped to pick up mail at the post office. 1997 Prizm - current ride (back seat belongs to dogs). 2007 Fit Sport - back seat and, sometimes, passenger seat belongs to big dog - little one can't quite jump over the dog seat cover. All our windows are covered with dog spit and nose prints. YMMV

Haha... Local style... All in da ohana! I just have to take the cats to the vet every year. Not their favorite thing to do... :behindsofa:
I just bought my 2012 Prius III and the first addition was Clazzio leather seat covers ($449.00 on EBAY or Clazzio direct) for the same reasons. They fit real well, so well, that the first time I brought it in (to have that back up beeper squelched) the Asst. Service Manager thought that they were factory leather seats. I am VERY happy with them.
I tried to get some feedback on this issue a few weeks back but was mostly ignored. (Maybe because I titled my thread: Let's Talk About My Bum)... But anyway, I would be concerned as well. I think most seat covers have been designed to break away for side-airbags, but I don't see how they could design a cover to break away for the airbag underneath your seat. Also rear seat covers would have to take into account that the rear seats actually house or top the 12volt and Hybrid Batteries. I'm afraid that could make seat covers a difficult proposition for The Prius c. PS. I was told The Yaris was equipped with a similar seat cushion airbag. But I haven't really investigated what Yaris drivers do about Seat Covers. Maybe people just ignore it? It's not really an impact resisting airbag. My understanding is it's designed to just slightly lift passengers to better align them with other safety devices.
I got you point. I think we should wait until there is some proper seat cover come out. there is reason why they put 9 air bag in the vehicle. lol I don't want to lose some of them because I just want a seat cover on. haha
Yes.. they do fit Perfectly... And just so you know, the seam down the side of the cover, where the airbag is, is sewn specifically to deploy with the airbag. We even have every kit tested and certified before selling it to the public. Not only do we remove the backing down the one side to help it open, but we use string that explodes open with the airbag, but maintains its solid strength, while it's holding tension on your seats. Our Leather insert covers are the best selling product we make. They have a 3 year warranty to protect against any popped seams or defective materials. The insert is Genuine perforated leather for breathability, with an anti-bacterial waterproof layer underneath, and then a 1/2 inch of memory foam for comfort. The body and headrests are made with a high quality, leather textured, thicker and stronger PVC. Looks just like leather. But for covers, this is the best way to go. Leaves your interior looking just like factory leather, and didn't require removing all of your original material to make it happen. If anyone has questions about our product, and would like to see samples, you can always ask. We're HERE TO HELP!! -Tyler
Here is a link to our video, showing an airbag test. http://www.clazzio-11i.com/engine/swf/player.swf?url=../../data/video/airbag_test_1.flv
I picked up a set at the local AutoZone which specifically are setup to allow all airbag deployment. Also grabbed a heated seat cushion for the winter that can be used for summer also - will probably put it under rd the seat cover. So far everything working great.
