Prius C showed up in Indianapolis today. I got a blue streak 3 and am in love with it. Pics will come tomorrow. 58.6 mpg on the ride home
Welcome! I'm new as well. Today I managed to snatch the only Habanero in the southern Los Angeles area
Waiting for a dealer trade to get my Habanero cII, maybe Friday or Monday! Retiring my faithful Yaris.
Ditto on which dealership. We got our new 2011 Prius II from Becks on Feb 13th (Sat) and I got 62.1 on the first 170 mile trip at 55 mph cruise control. I live up in Fishers. They have a neat VIP program once a month with food and prizes. I won a bottle of wine and a box of Girl Scout cookies. They give a tour of the shop and answer all questions. That 62.1 mpg was better than the 60.1 mpg best that I had gotten 4 times with my old 3 banger Geo Metro while hypermiling! I was shocked!
It was at Beck Toyota on the southside. Andy Mohr still says that they can't be test driven or sold until March 12th for whatever reason
Took a while to get some pics. The weather around here has been a little rough. Today I took a trip to Castleton, then Avon about 80% highway and 20% city driving and got 58.3mpg. My friend accused me "pussyfooting" on the gas so on the way back I drove like a typical irresponsible driver and still got 55.8mpg, I was impressed. Then I let an experienced prius owner friend drive the car home from there and he got 82.1mpg on about a 20 mile trip...
Thanks for your post; any info on mpg for the Prius C is great for many of us here on the fence. 62.1 mpg for a new car not broken in is unheard of. Espically on the highway where the EPA states 46 mpg for a rating.
Congrats cubchan. This is incredible. It looks like the mpg of this car are closer to the European scale which is 67 mpg combined (3.5 l/100 km). Strange enough, it rates 75.9 mpg on highways (3,1 l/100 km) and 58.8 mpg city (4,0 l/100 km). The inverse of the EPA scale. Your report seems in line with this. Experience and SpritMonitor tell that about 20% of Hybrid owners get the Euroscale figures. But remember, many drive a lot faster on our Highways, particularly where I live: Germany...
Greetings, I am uber happy to see that there are other Prius Chats from Indy. I just got my Prius 2012 after 5 years of putting it off and actually buying two Honda Fits in the interim. Finally made the jump and am super happy. I purchased mine from Terre Haute Toyota and got a good deal. Is there is a Prius club in Indy? Also any recommendations for Clear Shield installers is greatly appreciated. samer Avon, IN
Our 2011 is rated at 51 in town and 48 highway. I need to test something though....it appears that the car gets better mpg at 62 than at 55, just sudging by the graph on the dash.
I just found out earlier than my physical therapist at Ortho Indy was not only originally from Kokomo, but has a Prius too! We should start some type of meet and greet sometime....kind of like IndyCarz does.
