Just traded my 07/2 touring with 98K this week (Mar '12)for an '12/3 w Solar and Nav. Both were/are Blizzard White. I must say I REALLY miss my little stash box in the dash, and the console seems a fair amount further back (much less useful). I liked the hide-a-drawer, the "under-deck" on the 12 is not very useful
 (Damn... I knew I forgot something!) *insert smileys and winks into previous statement Actually the dealership / salesman was very good, unlike the Chevy dealer who apparently didn't really want to be bothered when I stopped to look at the Volt. I guess they didn't take my purchase intent quite as seriously as you took my post. Of course, I drove up in a 3/4 ton, crew cab 4wd diesel pickup... I didn't exactally appear to be the type of guy looking to save on fuel! As for white being the best for mpg, I'll stand behind that claim for now (*more winks and smileys). Everyone knows that red makes a car go faster, so its not a huge leap to claim white increases fuel mileage.
They had Bizzard Pearl back in 2007? Welcome your #89 see post #320 in this thread. Posted from my iPhone via the Tapatalk app.
Blizzard Pearl was available on selected Toyota models back in 2007, but I think the Prius was only available in Super White. My 2007 Lexus RX350 is also pearl white, but the "Crystal White" paint is whiter in color and doesn't have as much "pearl" in it compared to Blizzard Pearl, which is more off white.
Well, have had the car for 11 days now.... I'm lovin it! Drove 7 work days (58mi/day), one full weekend with the usual mix of 3-6mi trips. The last pip started flashing last night on the way home from work.Today was my first fillup from my initial top-off when I got home from the dealership (160mi ride). Filled at the same station- same pump. She took 10.124 gal, drove 486 miles on that amount. Comes out to 48mpg on my first tank Compared to my previous daily driver..... 2003 Honda CR-V @ 22mpg: 486mi/22mpg= 22.09 gal @ $4.04/gal= $89.25 for that ten day period. 2012 Prius Five @ 48mpg: 486mi/48mpg= 10.124 gal @ $4.04/gal= $40.90 for same ten day period. So in the first 10 days of ownership the Prius has saved me $48.35 in gas costs!
oooh:rockon: Didn't know about this group! I joined last week with a BP 2011 III model. Whoo hoo Am debating whether to get black mudflaps or --prime and paint them BP before putting them on. BTW, my BP is a guy (and I'm a gal)
Just wait until the car and tires break in! By them summer temps will be here and you'll be in the 50mpgclub.
50mpg would be nice- but I'm already ecstatic that I've cut my fuel costs by over 50% from my previous vehicle. Basically, with the Prius- my daily round trip commute now costs $4.50 per day. I haven't had that low of a commute cost since gas was $1.50/gal back in the 90's. I feel I should be playing Billy Idol and Culture Club on the sound system
I did it, twice, in my GenII so it's not TOTALLY inconceivable in a GenIII. Damn you people with great commutes! Damn yous all to hell! LOL FWIW my tires are still breaking in and temps were in the low 50s but the first 34miles of my freeway commute totaled 57.8mpg and 48mph average indicated speed (60mph with CC onand home to work is uphill) If I didn't have that big hill at the end I bet I could be part of the 60mpg club. I still ended the total commute for the day at almost 57mpg (work to home is downhill) For now I'll be slummin' it with the 50 and under club. :cheer2:
Here is my 2012 Blizzard Pearl I bought 3 weeks ago. So far I have done the following upgrades: TINTED WINDOWS EIBACH SPRINGS 18" WHEELS (225/40/18) SIDE DOOR MOULDINGS LOWER DOOR MOULDINGS Next will the Clazzio leather seat covers.
You guys just wait 6-8 weeks from now. I'll send you a towel to clean up the drool on your keyboard ound: Mike
If I reset "Trip B" in the driveway on my way out- I do get 52.xx mpg commuting to work @ 65+ mph. It's the 2.5 mi trip to the bagel place and back on Sunday morning when it's 36F outside that kills the overall mpg. The really short weekend trips to the pharmacy, grocery shopping, kid's needs, etc when the car is ice cold really put a hit on good mpg. I was actually very interested in the PIP till I found the plug in range was only 11-13 mi. If they can double that- there may still be a PIP in my future just due to the nasty weekend chores I get stuck running.
I got my Five w/ AT two weeks ago and got smacked by a NYC cab on my way home from dealer. Still, I managed to put about 450 highway miles on the car before taking it in for repairs. So far, based on the odometer readout, I seem to be exceeding 50 mpg in most situations. Since I only put about 10k miles a year on a car, I was attracted to the Prius as much by the technology and carbon footprint concept as gas mileage. I was torn between BP and Sea Glass Pearl, but the white one came in first and dealer had no idea when I could get the other color equipped the way I wanted it. It shines in the sun and is a really good looking car. It will be even better after the yellow cab paint is removed from the bumper and fender. Will pick it up from the body shop on Saturday.
