Kazera Rims PVD Bright Blue

They look pretty sweet. I am guessing you got 17s? What tires did you get as well? Dimensions? Did you just use the stock TPMS on the new set up? And if you dont mind, what was the cost breakdown? Asking because I have a silver Prius V and just ordered the same wheels. Can the center caps be replaced? Dont like the orange and black.

I only had package 2 so had the 16 inch wheels and had to get a whole package. Went with the Bridgestone Ecopia's. I have a friend who was able to get me wholesale prices from Tire Rack for whole package. Should get them sometime next week and will post pics when I get them. Hard to tell from your pic but is it white or silver V? I have the silver and thinking the wheels on a silver car would look pretty nice as well.

Osteo - So how are you liking the rims? I have them also on my silver v. I am still on the fence whether or not I like them. In the sun the blue sticks out too much crying out "look at me". Not sure if I will stick with them. I am going to add Tanabe springs next to reduce the gap which I think will help some with the overall look.

 

You read my mind about powder coating black. I'll post some pics once I get it lowered in about two weeks.

Unfortunately I dont have good news on springs. I want Tanabe NF210s but they dont have them for the V yet. I found out Tanabe is testing the 10-11 Prius NF210s on the V but probably wont be done til April-May time frame. My survey of the local SoCal distributors definitely favor the Tanabes for lowering and maintaining the OEM ride comfort. If the older ones dont work then it will take even longer for them to manufacture ones for the V. Doesnt look like any of the other manufactures have springs for the V yet either so looks like we will have to wait. Maybe someone else is having better luck finding springs. I'm thinking of starting a new thread to see if anyone has lowered the V yet. I will probably go Tanabe sway and strut tower bar as well.

My friend who got me the wheels also found me some center caps to replace the ugly orange and black ones they came with. Much better! Take a look.

 

Nice! For the newbie in the room what do the springs and such do for the v? I have lifted a Jeep for off road purposes but never lowered one. I think I read somewhere that the swaybar helped with the windy conditions but I'm in information overload trying to take it all in. W

 

From a technical perspective, performance lowering springs reduce the car's center of gravity thus reducing body roll in turns and increasing steering response. Obviously the v is not a car you're going to drive aggressively to take full advantage of the springs so in reality it will be more about improving the look of the cars stance by reducing the gap between the fender and wheel. The strut tower bar will basically attach to the struts up front and provide better handling and stability. That is actually a relatively low priced and easy mod to do for around $140. Some of the mods folks add to the Prius may seem a bit overboard for a hybrid, but I figure if it doesnt take away from the performance of the car, have fun. Take a look at the Gen III forums and you'll see some pretty modified cars.

 

Oh I have but I truly don't understand the why behind the mods. The appearance mods sure but the suspension and such I hadn't looked into very deeply. My experience goes a different direction so I'm learning as I go. Thanks for the explanation and if you hear anything that may help the ride in higher winds please let me know. The buffeting is quite disconcerting. W
