I've got a chance to pickup the Habanero C II. Otherwise I wait another month or more for a Summer Rain C II. My first choice is Summer Rain (really like the yellow but it's only in Japan). I am intrigued by the orange but it's really, really Orange!! Anyone got an opinion on this color?
I'm anxious to see the C, and it will be really hard to resist getting one especially if it is Kubota orange.
I put my deposit down on a Blue Streak even though I wanted Habanero. If it isn't claimed, I may grab it instead. The orange looks more youthful to me. I hate the fact that I am 30 and going to drive a Prius lol. I am trying to mask it as much as I can.
Just put a deposit on a Habanero c 2. Love the color wanted a color that stands out on a foggy day. Just two more weeks or so.....
Once you feast yourself on that habanero, you're going to be praying for a summer rain! It might be a good idea to just buy both. .
Don't tempt me! I'm still hoping the yellow will eventually come in and then I may have to do some fast talking to the woman of the house: "But honey - we do too need a spare Prius...."
I'm assuming you know what a "habanero" pepper is. That was a pun with the rain. Kind of like eating a jalapeno pepper. ... Just tell her that she'll look HOT in the habanero!
LOL!! Habanero is nowhere close to a jalapeno - a lot hotter:flame: Anyway - she is open to yellow in the fun colors but kinda looked at me like I'm nuts when I showed her pics of the habanero. As I said: too bad the yellow is only in Japan. Maybe later?
I've said it before, but my opinion is Habenero looks like French Frie Sauce. I think it's one of the most unlikeable colors I've seen. But? Colors are subjective to the individual. Personally again? I'd wait to get the color I really wanted. Concievably you are going to be enjoying and living with this vehicle a long time. The color is the first thing you see whenever you approach your vehicle. IMO that's important.
I've been going back and forth with the Habanero color. I've seen it in person and really like it. But my brother and friends keep telling me it will fade over time. My second choice is the Blue streak. Any opinions on how well orange will stand the test of time?
I have mixed feelings about the Habanero color. In the US, it most uniquely identifies the Prius c. If you like bright colors, it does look awesome in the sunlight. In the shade, it's almost dull. I doubt the color will fade, but I personally associate orange with old 60's and 70's clunkers. I'm 50, so maybe that's just me. As "The Electric Me" points out, color is subjective. Never buy a color without seeing it in person. Always buy your favorite color in a new car, or every time you pass the color on the road, it will make you angry. As Electric mentions, notice your emotional reaction when you walk up to a specific color. The color should always bring you pleasure, never sickness or nausea. For example, I'm not extroverted, so red sickens me.
I've looked at just about all the colors in person. The day I looked at the Habanero was a bright sunny day. I haven't seen it at night or in the shade. But it's the only color that had me smiling the whole time I was looking at / test driving it
The salesman said about Habanero, "You'll either love it or you'll hate it," but that wasn't my experience. I couldn't make up my mind about it. I liked the idea of it, but on the rainy day when I saw it, it looked like it had already been faded by age ... it was just "off" somehow. In contrast, my initial reaction when seeing the silver was, "Hey, that looks nice!" I parked them next to each other in the dealer lot and stared at them for about 20 minutes, then went back to my gut reaction and chose silver. Later I realized that every previous car I've owned has been silver, so I guess the die was already cast.
I liked the idea of the Habanero too, but I was afraid I would get sick of it after the novelty wore off. I went with Summer Rain because it was a fun color that I was pretty sure I would never get sick of. And I love it! I did take a risk by purchasing it without ever seeing it in person, but it certainly does make me grin every time I see it
No offense to guys who bought the Prius c in Summer Rain, but it strikes me as the most feminine color.
