    Thanks, but I can't read the fine print. Gotta be able to read the footnotes etc. which is where the information is that we haven't learned about yet such as how many kWh to charge the battery and maybe how much gas was blended in as part of the 11 mile range or 95 MPGe estimate.

    Is there is separate city and highway MPGe in addition to the 95 MPGe combined estimate?

    You might need to take more than one close up of the window sticker in order to capture all the details.

    Finishing up with the finance guy. If I don't get escorted off the property first, I'll go back and take some more pictures :)

    The breakdown of the 95 MPGe is:

    0.2 Gallons / 100 miles
    29 kWh / 100 miles

    Blended range is 11 miles. AER seems to say 5 or 6 miles. It could be 0 mile also. :|

    Dianne, can you confirm what's the All Electric Range?

    AER seems like 6 miles to me USBs... Edit, haha you said 5 before posting this but I'm pretty sure it says 6.

    The picture on my phone is bigger and clearer. I'm 95% sure it says 6 miles AER. But I'll go out and check in a bit.

    Yea, the first screenshot looked like 5. Second one looks like 6.

    Annual fuel cost of $1,000 is exactly the same as 2012 Volt. Fuel Economy and GHG Rating is the same at 10. Smog Rating is 7 (one better than Volt).

    Midsize Prius PHV does better than the compact Volt.

    Do we know what AER means for a blended PHEV, according to EPA?

    I'm not sure how to interpret that.

    Determine the vehicle's Actual Charge-Depleting Range, Rcda. Determine separate range values for FTP-based city and HFET-based highway driving, then calculate a combined value by arithmetically averaging the two values, weighted 0.55 and 0.45 respectively, and rounding to the nearest whole number. Precondition the vehicle as needed to minimize engine operation for consuming stored fuel vapors in evaporative canisters; for example, you may purge the evaporative canister or time a refueling event to avoid engine starting related to purging the canister. For vehicles that use combined power from the battery and the engine before the battery is fully discharged, also use this procedure to establish an all electric range by determining the distance the vehicle drives before the engine starts, rounded to the nearest mile. You may represent this as a range of values. We may approve adjustments to these procedures if they are necessary to properly characterize a vehicle's all electric range.

    Say, Prius PHV completed the entire 11 miles City cycle in EV mode and 0 mile in highway.

    (11 miles x 0.55) + (0 miles x 0.45) = 6 miles.

    I don't know for sure. That's how I would interpret it with numbers made up to match.

    Tracksyde,
    Congratulations on your new car! You may be the very first to take delivery in the nation. I would have thought the new car get-ready would take at least a day, but here you are getting yours practically off the truck. So, which trim and what color do you have? (Color me envious!)

    I got the Base/Standard/Basic (not sure what its officially called) model in Winter Gray Metallic. When I got to Carson Toyota, my car was actually in the service area up on a lift getting its dealer inspection done, I think.

    I may be the first to take delivery, but its actually still at Carson Toyota since I decided to get the aftermarket leather done. So I wont have any first-hand impressions until I pick it up "for real" (hopefully tomorrow or Thursday).

    When I bought my last car, I thought that was quick. In and out of the dealer in 90 minutes. Today, I drove to see Dianne (25 minutes on the freeway from work) at lunch and was done in about 60 minutes. Thanks, Dianne!

    It's possible (from some reading about the SAE Jwotsit) that they're allowed to back-calculate range from electricity required to recharge after the cycle.

    Aa=.55Ca + .45Ha
    Aa rounded to nearer whole number.
    ~3kWh usable
    Ca = (Aa-.45Ha)/.55
    Ce ~= 3/Ca

    Hiya A!! A pleasure to meet you finally. Your car's going to be ready in a day ... how exciting!! I promise to get everyone in and out PDQ! But, you need to leave some time for the delivery process... we don't want you to get the car home and not know the important basics!!
