I got a confirmation that my Blizzard Pearl was built Feb 10, and shipped Feb 21, bound for Portland, OR. If the estimate is right, it should arrive in Portland on March 2. Here's hoping!!

Seems like a long time between build and ship dates. Maybe they were waiting for more cars going to the Pacific Northwest. Or do they come through Benicia and get trucked to the dealers in Oregon? If you know the name of the ship, you can track it to the US port.

Edit: See post #133 from JamesBurke about ships enroute to Portland.

They put a lot of cars on each boat. I read that one container ship carrying 5,000 Mazdas took on water once.. It must take a long time to build all 5,000 cars, get them to port, loaded onto the ships, etc. Maybe if you car is one of the last 5,000, it gets on the ship in two days, but if it's one of the first, it would take longer, don't you think?

Info I had from Toyota said mine would be built on 2/9, available for shipping 2/10 and shipping 2/14. That was early on, and it didn't follow the estimates exactly. Since I now see that ships go directly to Portland, maybe it takes longer to get enough cars for that area and Canada to load a ship.

On-line order info was updated today: Our standard clearwater blue PiP was built on 2/23. Now I wonder which ship will take it to Long Beach, CA and when!?

    Your Plug-in was built
    2/6/2012
    In transit to port

    Arrived at US port

Thank you for any help you are able to give.

Jack, I had no info on it thru yesterday evening. Only that it had been built and was still in Japan.

I emailed a few hours ago to tell you it was on the Cetus Leader due into port on the 9th March.

YOu may want to get your personal info down off this board?

I have a bit a of a problem right now. Since I sold my Prius in less time than originally planned, I had to rent a car. I went to Hertz rent a center located within DFW airport and was giving a bit of an upgrade. Not what I was expecting AT ALL!!! After three years of Prius ownership, you can understand why I am a bit over the moon with my rental car. To say that I am absolutely positively in love with it, is an understatement. However, as the fuel gauge of the rental moves towards the "E" at a rate I have never experience before; I am reminded why I bought my Prius in the first place. No matter how cool the rental is, I will always go back to Prius!

Now, I am anxiously waiting for my new PiP to arrive. In the meantime, I will have a couple of weeks of gas guzzling fun!

Where are you all getting the ship information from? I'd love to be able to track my car, #132. It shows: Your Plug-in was built[IMG]2/26/2012
When I saw this on the web site, I decided to post my 2006 on Craig's list. It sold the next morning! Now I'm in the same boat as PRPrius! I'd like to be able to track my PIP's location so I can at least know when I'll have a car again. Any insite of how I find the ship that will be bringing my new car over would be very much appreciated! Thank you for any ideas!

I love hearing of all the used Prius being sold so quickly. Hopefully I'll be that lucky when I go to sell mine.

    Check in this thread:

    http://priuschat.com/forums/toyota-prius-plug-in/102735-toyota-plug-in-ship-carriers-15.html (thats the current page)

A couple people there discussing 2/26 and 2/27 build cars being on either Pyxis or New Century 1? Sorry, didnt read it too thoroughly. But to answer your question, check there.

For absolute confirmation, you'll need to contact your dealer. They should be able to tell you which ship your car is on if it has shipped.

Good luck. The wait is painful ;)

My dealer checked what ship my car is assigned to, and it still only shows "TMC", which we know is just a Toyota Motor Corporation/Company placeholder for the actual ship name. My car was built on 2/23 (order 272), but no sign of it yet. I hope it has been shipped by now.

I am so sick and tired of this camaro that I got from Hertz! I wish they had not given me the upgrade. I am so glad I get to turn in the car on Thursday. I will go ahead and rent a Prius from Toyota of Grapevine while I wait for my PiP to arrive. Thank god toyota has the Toyota Rent a Car program! I got the Camaro on Thursday at 12:00pm, right after selling my 2005 Prius. As of yesterday, I have refueld twice at a cost of 45 and 49 dollars each time. Completely unaceptable for my daily 35 miles commute.

Today, as Pyxis Leader docked in Newark, the My Order page finally showed an In Transit date of 2/6.

Mine updated its transit date as well - to 3/3 (Build date of 2/27 was replaced by a check). Anyone know which ship is on its way to the east coast. I've been unable to find it.

I received an e mail saying that my car was on the high seas on Feb 15th. Now just today, after the Pyxis Leader docked at Newark, my web site updated telling me the PIP is in transit to port! So that mean it's just starting out from Japan? It should already be here, next few days will tell. [IMG]
