I'd roll those. They may be a little hard to find used since that wasn't a very popular car.

 

good looking wheel. Curious about width and offset. Also, you would have to get creative to cover the Saab logo...but I am sure that would be the easy part

 

Per this old thread over at NASIOC, they are 17x7 +52. Looks like the offset is a deal breaker, unless you like that look or you use some beefy spacers.

Agreed. If you picked those rims...then you would need to slam it to take advantage of the tires fitting into the wheel wells.

 

Funny my previous car was a Saabaru 9-2x Aero. I had those same wheels they looked nice and are very easy to clean.

Don't forget that Prius wheels are hubcentric. For the new wheel to fit
properly, in addition to lug pattern and offset, it will need to have a 54.1
cm. centerbore.

The wheel could have a larger centerbore with the difference being made
up with aftermarket centerbore rings.

 

and will have to replace all the wheel studs.

Please remember that 17" tires (225/45/17 or 215/45/17) are considerably heavier than 15" tires.

 

Not true, the offset will push the outer part of the wheel out 6mm & the inner side will have 20mm less room then stock which is about the same as a 7.5" wide wheel with a +45mm offset, inner clearance anyway. The wheel should fit just fine.

 

I've been looking at tire weights a lot & there are some that are not too much heavier.

 

Maybe I'm not understanding what you're saying, but the "offset will push the outer part of the wheel out 6mm" is throwing me off. It sounds backwards to me the way it's written.

If 0 offset would out the "face" in the middle (equal "outer part" and equal "inner part"), then a positive offset would essentially be increasing the "inner part" while decreasing the "outer part", giving the appearance of an "inset" wheel.

If the stock 15x6 is +45, then the 7" wide +52 should be a hair more aggressive than the stock wheel. But anyway, to each his own, just sayin I'd be a bit more aggressive with the offset if I was switching out my wheels.

 

Exactly, the wheel is an inch wider so the out part of the wheel will be 6mm farther out & the inner side will be closer to the strut. Use this to play with the wheel width & offset to better understand what happens.
