Is anyone planning to add any port or accessories added? I did not add the floor mats because I thought it was too expensive. Also if the PIP is exactly same as Gen III then wont the floor mats from that work for PIP? It costs about half of what is being charged for PIP.

    Thx

I don't know about for 2011 but from a 2010 to the 2012 PiP the mats have different grommets to anchor the drivers mat. Also, the PiP mats (both carpeted and all weather) will have different badging saying something like plug-in etc. And there is a chance there may be minor differences in the mats. The trunk (cargo) mat must be different since the floorboard part which folds open to reveal 'under the trunk' storage is much smaller and in a different spot then the prius liftback.

I have the all weather mats in my 2010 and have been very happy with them so my father and I are both getting a set for our PiP's.

    Sam,

The floor mat size should be the same. I ordered the floor mats with the car because I have seen photos of floor mats that said "Plug-In" on them. I also ordered the clear plastic back bumper applique because it says "Plug-In"

I, too, wanted to save money and order them later. However, I thought they might be special for the plug-in and I also wanted my car to be complete when I got it.

It cost me a little extra money, but I'm glad I'll have them when I get my car.

I figured the mats would look different than a regular Prius because there's no image for them on the toyota.com site, even now.

I thiknk they say PLUG IN on the mats and rear bumper applique to remind you to... PLUG IN!!! ;)

I went for the mats, even tho overpriced is better than getting something cheaper that may not fit exactly. And don't have to worry as much about staining the interior. But i'm a sucker anyway going for the Advanced package, so whats another $225?

Ok alright might just ask dealer to add it. Already got the rear bumper just hadn't added the mat.

It is a special car, so I want the special floor mats (that say 'Plug In').

I didn't order the port installed mats because I just gave the buyer of my '06 the unused carpeted mats that came with the car. I had switched them out for Toyota All Weather Mats from the parts department before I even drove the car. I still have the carpeted mats from my Lexus after 10 years, using the ones from Weather Tech instead. So I'm going to go with either Weather Tech or Toyota rubber mats this time, and somewhere down the road let the new owner worry about it.

I wonder if they make a 'plug-in' version of the all weather mats.

(I bought an extra set of the carpeted floor mats for my 2005 Prius about 1/2 year after I bought the car. I stored them in my attic after I bought them and haven't looked at them since. )

I did the same thing with carpeted floor mats. They are still new!

They make the mats with "Plug In" because it is not hard and there is money to be made doing it. Obviously, some folks like having floor mats like that, so no harm done.

Did ya' read my post? ;) Yes, the all weather mats for the PiP will be unique to the PiP with special badging or wording.

    Mark,
I didn't see the all weather mats as a port-installed option, so I gather you are getting them through your dealer? Do they have them available now?

Unfortunately they won't be port installed, the dealers 'should' have them by the time our cars arrive there. That's what I'm being told... I called my dealer yesterday and told him when they come in I want two sets for both me and my fathers car. He called the parts dept. and they didn't have them yet but I'm still being told they should have them very soon...

So if one doesn't care about the special plug-in badging, does anyone know if the standard 2012 Gen III all weather mats will fit all the same? Any issue with the anchor locations being different?

Yeah, that's what I am wondering, too. I'll take the special ones for the PiP if they have them in time, but Dianne at Carson Toyota says they don't have them yet. It's not a big deal to me to have a logo, so I hope the regular ones fit. It seems that in the assembly of the cars it would be easier to make them all the same. But as Mark pointed out, the rear cargo and underfloor storage access is different, so that will most likely mean a special cargo tray. I can live without that for a few weeks if I can get the front floor handled at delivery time.

In the Mods and Accessories forum, there is a thread where a 2012 owner confirmed the 2011 anchor points in the from seats (none in rear) are different than the 2012. So apparently OEM mats (regular or all-weather) and WeatherTech mats must be made specifically for a 2012. If you go with Husky Weatherbeaters, they don't use the floor mat anchors to prevent movement (they have 'teeth, on the underside) so those may not be an issue.

    Heres' the post:

    http://priuschat.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1476239

Note, he/she says the anchors are also now permanently attached, unlike the 2011 where they were removable (??)

Speaking of accessories, there's now a free app on iTunes for the 2012 Prius Plug-In VR360 app for the iPad. Not sure if there is one for Android yet but I can imagine there probably is.

What's the word on the PiP mats? Is there any data if the GenIII-MY12 and the PiP share anchor slots?

Any word on when the PC store will have PiP accessories?
