Hi Everyone Finally sealed a deal on a 2012 Prius Package 2 (blizzard pearl white) last night at a local dealer in So.Cal. MSRP was $25,2xx Paid $23,000 even plus tax and license. Even got the 2.9% financing for 60 months. I think I've got a pretty good deal considering it is early 2012 still and the best quote I've got so far on a left-over 2011 Prius Package 2 in white was about $21,600 plus tax and license (MSRP is $24,700). I am in SoCal and if you need more info on the dealership, please PM me. By the way, it is NOT Carson Toyota. I know Diane contributes a lot to this great forum but I must say Carson toyota is NOT known for best deals out there frankly. I will post some pics later
Congrats. Did you end up with Dark Gray or Bisque? I didn't purchase from Dianne either, but I'll say this. Part of the price you pay is reputation. If you only shop around for the best price and get lucky with thousands below MSRP, you run the risk of getting screwed along the way (like some here who managed to score a rock bottom price and drove home only to find that they didn't get the cargo mats they negotiated, etc.). If you stick with known reputable dealers like Carson Toyota, Longo Toyota, etc. you can rest assured nothing wrong will happen and still get a good deal compared to the average dealer.
Thanks, 32kcolors! I went with the bisque interior. I totally agree with you on the reputation. There are many shady dealers out there (especially in So.Cal). I got mine from DCH Torrance Toyota and their service has been excellent. Got a price quote via email/phone, submitted my credit application online, got an approval in minutes, went in, and signed the papers. That is it. I was inside the dealership for literally 30 min. The finance guy was a cool dude as well. Not pushy at all. and hey.. I live in PV lol.
I just picked up a 2012 Silver Package 2 out the door for about 25,400 financed 100% over 5 years for 465 per month...This includes the crazy California Sales tax and license registration.... I am very impressed....I was nervous about noise maker, but I think it is a good add. I was on the plug in list but I concluded that the added cost was not worth it.
I think the OP did very well getting $2.2k off total MSRP. Looks like this is going to be a pretty hot year for Prius sales. Four choices too - c, Pip, v, lift .... What are the other mfrs going to do? .. play catch up.
Thanks, Cycledrum. I know dealers will run $22,000 or 22,500 loss leader ADs on these shortly but I didn't think it would be worth waiting for those.
Congrats! I'm working out my financial status to see if I can snatch up a Blizzard Pearl III with solar. Hopefully I'll be able to make a similar post soon.
That's an awesome deal. We just bought the same 2012 Blizzard II for $23,625 here in San Diego @ 2.99/60-months last week. Looks like you did a little bit better than we did. Now it's time to get some all-season mats, mud guards, and tint!
I'm assuming you guys have stellar credit to get that 2.99% rate. Even with "great" credit I only see 4.5%. I wonder how much leverage I have to try for the 2.99%.
They initially only offered us 4.5% based on like a 748 Credit Score. We basically said that we can't accept that. So the salesman (we got a super nice one btw) spoke to the managers and offered us 2.99% IF we buy the extended warranty ($2500 or something). We said no, no warranty. So after some more manager chat it was already 8pm, so they let us go with the 2.99% no strings attached. So don't give up! You can get the lower apr. Just walk out if they don't offer it and then you'll get it for sure.
You don't need stellar credit to get the 2.9%. Toyota offers these financing to Tier 1, 2 and 3 credits. So fight for it.
Lookoing to purchase the exact same car and live in southern california. can you tell me where you made this great deal.
can you tell me where you made the great deal, I also live in so cal and am looking for the 2012 blizzard pearl package 2
