All of first Prius C's are allocated as of 2-11 and will be hard shipped to U.S. dealerships via conversation with multiple dealerships today. Still no price on spec sheets though. The ship is at port.

The Prius c will be at dealerships before the Prius Plug-in?! Hard to believe, wow.

Don't worry the other car companies have a sharp
    eye on Toyota's hybrids.

Within the next 2-3 years you will probably see
a Ford Focus hybrid, 50 mpg, the 2013 Ford Fusion gets
45 mpg, so the smaller Focus should get 50 or maybe more
    mpg's.

Kia and Hyundai will probably have their Elantra series type model
also hybrid with 50 mpg or more.

What we need is more competition in the hybrid market.

When a car company comes out with a 50+ mpg car, that is under $18,000 that will lower the price for all hybrid vehicles.

    Just my opinion.

I think it means low productivity at work for Prius enthusiasts as they'll be busy poring over the details.

Problem with Ford hybrids, great car but they price too high...

I do hope Toyota does create some competition... Need someone to push them a little... So far no one is...

I spoke with two Philadelphia area dealers on Friday concerning Prius c availability. Dealer A said this model was due for a regional roll out and would not be available here before 2013. Dealer B said they would have stock in 3-5 weeks. Is there truth in any of this?

Dealer is either just ignorant (maybe confusing the PiP with the c) or lying to try and get you to buy a Prius liftback.

My local dealer emailed me the spec sheets for the 2 cars he was allocated...just give them a call and ask them to see what Prius C they were allocated and ask them to email you the spec sheet. It won't have any prices on it though :(

The Prius C will be released to all dealers at once...they are calling it a hard release/ship. Just speak to the new car manager and ask them to call there sales rep if they don't know the answer.

There was a media demo (including drives) at their headquarters in La Jolla, and I presume the price and package details were given, but there's a media blackout until Wednesday (February 8th).

My guess is that the short gap is because last year's issues put production behind schedule and they've tried to shorten the lead as much as possible.
