Hi Everyone! I just picked up my new 2012 Prius Three earlier this week and I'm loving it. I thought I was going to have a hard time choosing a color, but as soon as I saw the Sea Glass Pearl models, I knew I had to go with that. I didn't add the moonroof package as I was aiming for the least expensive Prius that included navigation. My first impressions are that the cloth seats are very comfortable, the ride is very smooth and the stock non-JBL stereo sounds much better than I was expecting, however my expectations were incredibly low. Entune was easy to set up, although it's a bit annoying to have to plug in the iPhone w/ a USB cable when it's already paired via Bluetooth for making calls and streaming music. The artificial noise that alerts pedestrians sounds pretty crazy, like a space ship, especially when driving through my shared indoor parking garage. However, it does it's job. More pictures here in my photo album.
This is the color that replaced Sandy Beach metallic, its offered on the sienna van now! Looks like a nice color hope you enjoy.
Thanks for posting these! This...is very different than the other pictures I'd seen. It only looks similar in the sun. I wasn't expecting that dark greyish/blueish aspect at ALL. It looks so complex only an in-person visit will help someone figure it out.
Reminds me of an old Acura Legend color called Cantebury Green. Lexus also used it on the SC 300 and 400. Always catches my eye.
I've seen this one in person as well. The color (like the old Tideland Green Pearl) is hard to capture w/o proper white balance on the camera. Congrats on your purchase!
okay, I NEVER care too much about car color. Well other than my 1996 Baby Blue Ford Taurus. I had to endure that terrible color for almost 2 years, as my first company car. Because of inventory this year, I didn't even get to pick colors on our 2 2011 Pruis and didn't care. (got a red and a black one) BUT, that is the best car color I have seen in a long time. I would "almost" trade in, to get that color, but a $3,000 hit going from a 2011 with 6,000 miles to a new 2012, just isn't worth it. As my wife just reminded me as I type this........arg...oh well, enjoy and i LOVE your color choice....
Thanks brewcrew9! When I was researching the colors online based on pictures, I thought I was going to go with Nautical Blue, Barcelona Red or Classic Silver. However as soon as I saw the Sea Glass Pearl in person, I knew I had to have it. As 32kcolors said previously, the color seems to change depending on whether you're viewing it in a bright, natural light environment or shade / dusk / indoor lighting. I've never seen anything quite like it and pictures don't really do it justice.
Completely agree on the color change. For me it was the silver or the sea glass green. I have always been a huge silver fan so I chose what I did. But both of these colors do a GREAT job of reflecting the environment they are in. It is really cool to park by the water and see a blue hint, or park by the park and see a green hint. Grats on the Prius, I am loving mine probably just as much as you are yours !
I would like to see this color on a PKG Five! I like the Sandy Beach on the five, But Don't like it on the two- four! Don't know what it is?
