Prius C Price range in the US

Prius C now showing st the Detroit Auto Show... Looks nice...

 

Not a lot of new information, but the entry price will be under $19,000, which is less than the $20,000 you stated.

 

I am still hoping it will be under 20k, starting price

 

starting price is under $19k... that was announced by toyota already.

 

Usually the starting price quoted does not include destination charges. My guess the MSRP range will be $19.5K to $26K.

Toyota made sure to bullet point in their own release that The Prius C would be the most "economical" hybrid available. Touting an under $19,000 dollar starting point.

My guess after looking at the owners manual and leaked brochures? Pure speculation, but my bet is that while some base models might appear around $19,000, the reality will be to purchase a Prius C in any decent or civilized configuration is going to pretty quickly increase that price.

Personally? At this point? It's so close I feel I must wait to see The Prius C. But? I'm afraid I might conclude that I should of bought a 2011 Prius II last month when they were going locally for around $22,500. Because my guess is whatever the entry price point might be? I'm thinking after options...The Prius C is going to be closer to The Prius II...than say a Corolla.

It will be interesting to see how the Pricing breaks down. Seems like Toyota has left a lot of options available. But the converse of that? You've got to pay for them.

 

If they offered cruise for $250 on the base c it would sell really well. There's not much else really "missing". Just a few boxes.

Corolla LE is $17,910. So, you think it's going to be closer to $22,500 or at least $20,205. Possible. It's only a little more than an Insight LX. (2012 Prius liftback Two is $24,000. Not going to be closer to that.)

 

If the price of gasoline does go up as expected this Spring, Prius c and PiP will be hot, and dealers will not behave themselves.

people need to check prices of Yaris, let alone Corolla... not cheap cars.

 

Cars.com has a review today listing four trim levels and pricing. I don't have enough posts to show the URL, but search any of the text below on Google:

The Prius c One starts at $18,950 (before a $760 destination charge) and includes a USB port, Bluetooth phone and audio, hill start assist, 15-inch steel wheels, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, a four-speaker stereo and steering-wheel-mounted audio, climate and phone controls.

The Prius c Two starts at $19,900 and adds a six-speaker stereo, a six-way adjustable driver's seat, a 60/40-split folding backseat, cruise control and a center armrest.

The Prius c Three starts at $21,635 and adds navigation and Toyota's Entune system, body-colored door handles, a Touch Tracer display, push-button start, and keyless entry and cargo area.

The Prius c Four starts at $23,230 and adds 15-inch alloy wheels, heated SofTex front seats, fog lamps and body-colored mirrors with integrated turn signals.

The only available options are 15-inch alloy wheels and a power moonroof for the Prius c Three and 16-inch alloy wheels with an upgraded suspension and moonroof for the Prius c Four.

 

That's not "comfortably under" $19K as touted here before. And no CC on a drive by wire car is, quite frankly, inexcusable.

 

CC to force upgrades is standard practice. It's typically not available on the base model and then sometimes a $250 option on subcompacts.

Think Prius liftback Two minus heated mirrors, 4-door one-touch windows and touch-tracer.

Heated mirrors only coming on the Four is a bit sad.

 

Two premium is $3.8k over a 5-door Yaris LE.

 

It's a $1,000 dollar option on the C. Hwy commuters, whom will be highly interested by the low ball marketing price, will not be happy to say the least.

Trying to be an optimist, I think the C will help boost GenIII resale values!
