Yeah, pop open the fuse box. On my car, when I opened the box I found the third row from the left had only half fuse slots, but no fuses. If you push in the release clips at the top and bottom, it will lift out. I put the first unused one to use. Here is a pic of the open box in my car!!!

Got the DRL today. No instruction in the package.
3 wires brown black and grey. Brown and Black wire are connected to a fuse.
Brown seems to be the live wire. I will tap that to a 12V power source. and black one is the ground wire? What about the grey one?

The DRL's that I bought and did not use, they are still for sale folks, PM me, had 3 wires also. 2 were for power the third was a dimmer lead. When energised it cut the lamp brightness about 1/3rd.

No paperwork???
That sucks, email or call the folks you bought those things from and have them Xerox a copy of the install instructions and mail it to you, or at least have them email what the 3 wires hook up to!!!

Good Luck!!!

Quality is solid, no cheap plastic.
I tested the LED via a 12V battery, so bright!
Just need to find a place to fit them since they are too thick to slide in between the grills.
Emailed the seller. and waiting for the wire diagram now.

Done! Just need to worry about the positive and negative wires. You don't need to connect the 3rd one.

I know this is an old post but i'm going to do the same thing. I have led drls as a waterproof strip. There's two wires, red-plus and black-minus.

Just want to confirm that using the diagram from KK6PD, the purple is the power wire that is only activated when the car is on?

Yes I will confirm on a '08 Gen II v5, there is indeed power on the purple, and the orange and red as well, when the car is on in the run mode, not the ACC mode. They are powered off in ACC mode!!
I just had someone ask about this last week!
If anyone out there is thinking of trying this mod and is unsure, PM me! I would be more than happy to and a helping email or two, and if you are in the LA area, a meet up is possible!

I can say, that since I have installed all the LEDS in the car, they are ALL still running just fine! I know of others who have had failures, maybe they run many more miles than I do a year. I usually run less than 10k a year on the car! Every time i read a post about LEDs burning out, I go out and do a walkabout the car and see, I used the Autoillumination.com LEDs, not sure where the others purchased theirs!

Hello,

I’m about to start on my project and I would like to see your pictures they would really help me out. But for some reason they are no longer showing up. All I’m seeing is an ICON witha red X symbol.

I would like to see your pictures of your installation showing the source of the “hot line “ for the [Blue wire ] on the windshield washer motor on the right side of the front fender.

what connectors did you have to buy to complete the job? Obviously each light has a red & a black wire did you join the two black together and then ground them as one or did you ground each one separate?

Thought I would try this again, I guess your picture no longer show up. Question did you run an inline fuse [ 5 or 10 amp ] to your power wire? That hooks up to the blue wire. So what happens when you use your washer pump to clean your windshield and the DRL lights are on Any issues with current draw, or the fuse at box for the pump

All I can say is pop the cover, see if you have a row with no fuses. It would look similar to my pic. You will probably have setup like mine. if you see a partially populated row, push the tabs top and bottom and gently lift up, see whats there!
