According to the manual the Prius v 5 should have Daytime Running Lights. I was told that the service department would be able to enable them. I got back from my dealer's service department and they were unable to get the DRL's to work. Anybody else tried to get the DRL's to work?
Per Toyota press release no DRL on the 2012 Prius v (any pkg). Press release here: http://priuschat.com/forums/attachm...lease-materials-2012-prius-v-product-info.pdf I had convinced myself that my Prius v had DRL but it was just really good wishfull seeing. What page in the user manual talks about DRL? I can't find it.
Buy one from Canada :-/ they all have DRL And I'm looking for a way do disable them (more power to the battery instead of burning headlights).
On page 216 of my owners manual there is a section about the DRLs. It states "For the USA: Daytime running lights can be turned off by oprerationg the switch." Also if you look at the fuse section in the owners manual you will see that fuse 25 is for the DRLs.
Toyota is going to continue to get questions about "turning on my DRL" in USA. Maybe they will add DRL to 2013 Prius v, or update the USA user manual. Has anybody asked if it can be added, and for how much. I'm just wondering. I'll put it on my list of questions for the dealer at my 5000 mile tire rotation. Thanks again for pointing out the page number gwbark81.
Just got an email back for Toyota Support: The 2012 Prius V is not equipped with Daytime Running Lights (DRL). We do not offer DRL as a dealer installed option, so it may not be added to your Prius. The decision not to provide DRL was made at short notice after the printing of the Owner's Manual. Between this and the iPhone 4 not working well with my Prius, I am very disapointed in the AT package. Since it is just software it is a pity they screwed this up!
Unfortunately, with any 'first run' products like this, there is bound to be a lot of disappointments like this. I know there are a few people who don't like Entune so far and as for myself, I haven't played with it much, but I am surprised at the lack of the solar panel venting system for the Prius v, even for the ATP one.
Is anyone who wants to try this? DRL Module #ETDRLHFC http://www.soundoffsignal.com/electronic/literature/ETDRLHFC.pdf
