Someone needs to show those condors the Windex commercial with the dumb bird flying into the glass door. If the species is worthy of survival they will figure out sooner rather than later not to fly into turbine blades. Maybe they could migrate to NJ and take care of the geese that don't fly south for the winter.

Maybe if we wouldn't have nearly wiped out the species there would be enough around to allow evolution to weed out the stupid ones but since their numbers are so few this isn't as simple as natural selection weeding out unfit individuals. :)

Yep ... when you only had a handfull at one time ... you're gona get a lot of inbreading. Kind of like watching "Deliverance" - if you remember the scene with the toothless cracker.
    ;)

oh oh . . . . I just found an article that makes it look like California's new electric car rule might end up being (in part) a big fat FRAUD:

    http://www.plugincars.com/california-pushes-more-electric-cars-creates-giant-loophole-111799.html

Chair woman Mary Nichols wouldn't even allow discussion on the over compliance provision. I'm having a 1990's CARB déjà vu if you know what I mean.

Why is overall GHG emissions a fraud ? IMO it is the only thing that matters.

evnow posted a similar story. It is worse than deja vu, since we already know where CARB goes from here if left to their own devices:mad: The big item that they seemed to get done was $100M for hydrogen fueling. Queen Mary does not seem like she is in favor of public discussion or voting.

I think the issue is the amount. Other board members wanted to shift the amount from 2 g/mi to 5 g/mi, but the discussion wasn't allowed.

IIRC, 100g/km is the cut off at which a vehicle qualifies for perks in Europe. So that's the low point with most cars larger than a compact emitting more. The specifics depends on the limits set by the Carb regulation, but a 2g/mi will likely mean a manufacturer that bests the limit by less than 2% doesn't have to sell enough plug ins for the 15% or even other one.

It's almost like the ethanol loop hole in CAFE that artificially inflates a vehicles mpg numbers.
