Silver up close The Dark Gray interior is now two-tone with door panels mostly black, center console and glove boxes black. bit of trivia ... the right rear port window now has lines for radio antenna or defroster, not sure which
new 2012 style window sticker, a Three with $26.55k price. Notice '2.0 gallons per 100 mile' in small print. What's with the 7/10 smog score, hmmm? Black is blurry, wah
Wow the grill makes a huge difference. I think it looks a lot better than the 2010/2011. Not to mention, the rear tail lights are pretty cool too. Dang it!
By the way - is this a "maxed out" version of the 2012? The reason I ask, is because you see where the fog lights are on the 2010 and have the grey area? Well, if you don't have the fog lights on the 2012, what would the fog light area look like? Or, are those fogs at all or just some LED DRL's?
The silver and black cars are both Two models. Those that get fog light (Four and Five?), the fogs are in sides of lower black grill. I think the lower orange light might be turn signal and maybe the LED looking things below are DRLs (I'm guessing
Yeah, that's weird about the 7/10 smog score. Did the scale change or something? I'm glad to see the combined mileage is the largest number. I haven't looked at other stickers on other cars to see if that's consistent/a requirement now.
Good point. If so, it's another step in the right direction! Now if we can just get combined FE front and center on TV commercials instead of '31 highway .... 40 highway .... 35 highway'
Cool pics, Cycledrum. Thanks. The PA dealer I have been corresponding with doesn't have any '12 liftbacks. She has '12 Vs, though.
They are LED Daytime Running Lights! The fog lights have been moved to the lower intake grill, just like in the Gen 2 Prius.
I am not feeling the wheel covers on the 2012. Neither the 2010/2011. What's under those wheel covers though?
It must be the same alloy wheel as the 10/11, but painted in shiny black. Wheel nuts will be easier to access with covers on, that's for sure. I think we'll be hearing a lot from people who just want to take the plastic covers off, but really don't like the black wheel against their whatever colored ride. Not to be a downer, but stay tuned. That said, less than a year ago, I was trippin' out on the 15" wheels and covers ... now that I have 3rd gen I don't mind them at all, long as tires pumped up.
Well, I'll go against the grain and say the '11 front end looks better to me. '12 seems a bit heavy with all that black, but maybe cheaper to produce since it doesn't have to color match the body. Not sure either style of tail light is the best solution in my opinion. And I wish they'd get rid of the blue surround in the T oval.
I'm not liking the '12 front end either. The two tone combo along the lower edge kills it. The new fog lights are better though.
I haven't seen it, but I'd like that better. I've always thought the Dark Gray was too monotone, which is why I prefer the two-tone Misty Gray. Really? So the small triangle window behind the rear window on the passenger's side has it but not the other side? It doesn't look the same to me. Get it in black. Problem solved
Look closely to see the Black split spoke. It's our old friend the 15 all burnt up That is correct. Guess they figure driver looking over right shoulder needs port window defogged due to heavy breathers back there, or it's for radio, not sure I suppose the RHDs have the left port window with defroster. Black wheels a surprise to me today. I hadn't a clue.
It appears the standard alloy wheels under the plastic covers are black. I wonder what they look like. Oops, posted this before seeing other pics. Were they painted or do they come like that from the factory? Also the '12 wheel covers look even cheesier than the '10-'11.
