OMG!!! I just had the The AV Mobile Entertainment Integration System and the Navigation and Video Enhancement Module installed on my 2010 Prius VI by Prestigious Society! It is the coolest thing! I can watch iPhone/iPad/Blu-ray/DVD movies on my nav screen and play video games! See pics attached. The system is so easy to use. Check it out!!!

Playing games and watching movies while you are driving....perfect for those California freeways. As long as you aren't talking on your cell.....I've heard that's against the law there!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought US spec Prius didn't offer DVD playback. ?????

I was thinking that the Prius didnt offer DVD play back as well. Which module was needed to achieve this? Did you have to in a player for it to work?

Cool looking interface~ The NVES you mentioned is to enable navigation access and video playback in motion. Their Mobile Entertainment Integration System is the AV input which enable the DVD folder on the factory audio system. Nice to see they finally make this available for the 2010+ Toyota.

The AV interface is called Mobile Entertainment Integration System. The Navigation and Video Enhancement System is to achieve video and navigation access in motion. I had both installed by Prestigious Society.

How much did it cost to install both? How much did each product cost? Can't seem to find any pricing info.

    Taken from their website:

"The DVD/Video enhancement features built into our module are designed to enable video playback for passengers. If your vehicle is equipped with the factory DVD/Video option, the DVD/Video enhancement will unlock the video controls on the center console screen while the vehicle is in motion. If your vehicle is not equipped with factory DVD/Video option, the enhancement module is designed to be compatible with many popular 3rd party video input interfaces which will enable video playback via the navigation screen."

My question is that since US spec Prius does not have a DVD playback option, are you using a non-US Nav in your setup to take the pics? The unit simply unlocks the NAV and DVD in motion from what I'm reading. Thanks!

From the pictures on their website, the nav system does appear to be US Spec system (JBL and E70#2 http://www.prestigioussociety.com/?page_id=281) I think imagehh can validates it.

Read more about this Mobile Entertainment Integration System, if I am not mistaken, it simply "creates" the DVD folder on the factory audio system to allow the video to play from a portable DVD player or from an iPod/iPhone that is connected to this system. Has anyone contacted them?

That may be the case. I am not doubting anyone, just curious as to how it was done. Thanks!

Where did you see the price? I was looking around on their site but couldn't find any numbers.

Please post pics of the accident you are going to have, and what the insurance payout was to the party you rear ended!
Disabling the speed lockout is JUST PLAIN STUPID!
It's there not to protect you, it's to protect your fellow drivers!

Just because you can, does not really mean you have to!

Nice to see someone responsible here!!! I've been looking for a way to disable DVD playback in my car (Pioneer HU) - and it seems impossible!

Every time I put in a DVD for the passengers, like a magnet my eyes are drawn to the DVD being played. It's worse when we have a game in the Playstation... I can say first hand that driving while holding a wireless game controller is challenging to say the least.

I'd say the WII is probably the safest to use (that way you can keep at least one hand on the wheel) - but the motion bar is hard to keep still (we use two sided tape to temporarily put it on/take it off).

Curious what you would say about Honda nav systems that dont have the speed lock out

I never understood why some people think SOMEONE ELSE should be responsible for how you use your car and its features. We're all responsible adults here, aren't we?

You are mistaken. That's what the DVD playback looks like when the vehicle is in motion. It has all the controls a regular DVD player would have.
There's nothing wrong with disabling speed lockout. Aftermarket stereos don't have speed lockout, only video display lockout. Toyota's speed lockout is stupid. If you're going to implement speed lockout, why only partial lockout? Why not full lockout? I mean why does it let you look up call history but won't let you dial numbers? Why does it let you change to next folder but won't let you see additional folders in the USB?
Having a "Disabling the speed lockout is JUST PLAIN STUPID!" opinion doesn't make him responsible. It just makes other people think he's responsible. If your DVD player displays video while in motion, the parking brake has been disabled. It is either requested by you if it's installed professionally or you personally disabled it when you installed it. DVD will play regardless if the vehicle is in motion or not. However, video will only show if parking brake is applied.
wow, you have no self control or sense of priority. Have you thought about letting someone else drive? What's more important to you? watching movies and playing games or keeping everyone in your car alive?
No game console is safe while driving.

If you want to talk about safety, why don't auto makers implement headlight activation when wipers are activated when the law requires headlights to be on when the wipers are activated?

Does the AV unit have the speed lockout built in? Doesn't makes sense to have to buy two units when one unit can do it all. I'd like to have the ability to watch movies with my Ipod, but for $399 I will wait for more vendors to come out with the same product to drop the price. $399 is borderline buying a aftermarket headunit.

I know that is what the DVD playback looks like. The member was asking how is it possible that the US Spec. navigation system has the "DVD folder" since there is no DVD option. This is similar to the VAIS Tech iPod/iPhone video integration that I installed on my Lexus. The VAIS Tech piece creates a "DVD Interface" on my factory system so I can play iPod video.

As to the safety concern that many members mentioned. I can't speak for anyone, but I ground my parking brake so I can have video in motion (for my passengers on the long trip). I tried a few times while driving to look at the display but I think the "human instinct" aspect of not putting myself in harms way always takes over immediately. Yes, I understand people may argue that just a couple seconds of distraction is enough. However, is that the same as changing climate controls and as simple as change radio stations (sorry I have a old Lexus w/o steering control).
