Does anyone know if ground control coilovers fit on the prius? If so do they fit with no additional modifications? Do they fit using the stock prius shocks? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

PM!? why keep it private? Please let others know if it works, and where in WV will a shop knowingly do this mod, and at what price.

LOL, sorry. Yes they work. I was going to also do Matrix Tokico HP's at the same time. The rears fit perfectly but where Prius uses an aluminum knuckle in the front and Matrix doesnt the mounting point is thinner on a Matrix and the strut wouldn't fit the Prius. So I just used OE struts on the front with the ground controls. Install them as you would on a Matrix and they work fine. Ride is similar to Eibachs just don't go too low. Good thing about GC's is you can order different springs with different spring rates.

Put about 15k on with the GC's, had 80k when I installed. Ran Eibachs for probably 60k prior to that. No leakage from struts/shocks up until I got rid of the car.

Sorry to breathe life into a older thread...

Where did you find this info? What year of Matrix is compatible? What other parts are interchangeable with other cars?? This is good info!

All you need to remove on a 2nd gen is the exhaust. Any from bar for corolla 03-08 will work.

What would you like to know? Pretty simple install. The spring seats on the rear have to be removed from the shock body.

Yep up to 08 actually. I would assume the Skunk2's would work as well.

Wow... good to know - Probably worth the difference unless you want the "Go-Cart on rails" effect to spend the extra on the GroundControl brand? I take the similar ride with the Eibach lowering springs (ones that don't work with the touring model) are because Ground Control uses Eibach springs with their strut mount coilovers?

Obviously your stock shocks will wear out sooner...with the extra compression. Any other parts that are swappable... Also, can I expect the Touring model to work with these swaps?? :)

~$430 Ground Control - Spring Rate: Moderate - maintain closer to stock (saying this modestly) ride as possible.
    Part #:8070.01

$275 Skunk2 - Spring Rate: Harsh - much stiffer ride.
    Part #:517-08-2450

So for you guys that used the GC sleeves what's your trick on the rears? I took the spring perch off as directed and the sleeve falls all the way down the strut. Any help would be appreciated

Mine came with a metal ring insert that kept it from sliding past the perch. You may want to measure the diameter of the strut casing as well as the spring perch to see what the size differences were. I was using Touring struts where are slightly different than the base model struts. See my post from my other thread for my measurements.
