Hi everyone, I am looking to buy a Prius soon and it has been very informative reading on this forum, and I hope to continue with this community!

Anyway, I am looking to buy a 2011 Prius III with the Navigation Package. The rest will be standard exterior and interior.

Currently the best Out the Door quote I have received is $27,566 from a local dealer.

I am wondering about that price, what I can expect with the new year coming, and what I can expect if I wait. I would also like the 0% for 36 months as I can afford this. If I wait, what can I expect to occur to 2011 prices?

I have many questions, but I extend my thanks in advance for your help =).

Seems rather expensive. You may as well get the Prius IV instead for around the same price.
OR consider a Prius III for 22,600 + Garmin for $250 and save $5K:D

Much cheaper to keep a Garmin updated. I think we paid around $90 for lifetime updates.....

... and just where are you going to find a model III for under $25,000?
The model II's are going for around $22-23,000.

Another thing I like about Garmin, is that they have a section on their site to submit changes/errors. I have done that for a couple of roads in my neighborhood that don't exist in reality....were never run through the woods. It didn't take long for the corrections to appear in their data updtaes.

I have IV without nav but do have a Garmin. It's so freakin' easy to pull out of console and stick on window that it just didn't make sense to pay for nav system. Hell, I only use my Garmin a few times a month.

Manhatten Beach Toyota is advertising the lowest prices I've yet seen on 2011 Prii, I think now is the time to buy. No, I do not work for Manhattan Beach Toyota, if fact I'm an old retired fart who hounds the classified ads.

I just bought Silver 2011 Prius III with navigation package for 24k + taxes after rebate. And I live in an area with huge demand for Prius.

it's not just the nav, it's backup camera and USB also.

To add a backup camera monitor, I think you'd have to replace your rearview mirror.

I like the 2012 Three packaging better - either three which has nav, or three w/ nav and sunroof (although I don't recall mentions of sunroof yet).

I have a 2011 Prius III with navigation and that package cost an extra $2k, not the $5k quoted above. I wanted it for the nav, backup camera, USB and upgraded stereo. The price you were quoted is what I paid back in August. You should be able to do better with current rebates and offers. Check out the 2012 pricing to see if it makes sense to wait, or to use in negotiations. Good luck!

We purchased a Prius III in Blizzard Pearl w/Solar Roof... (yes, she had to have the sunroof option) so it also includes the Nav.. (that we really didn't want or need) But that $27K number is about right with that Solor Roof option.. or say, the best we could do w/it in our area..

    Hi there!

Sounds like you were wanting the exact same thing as me.

I got a 2011 Black Prius III w/ Navi and side decals for $27,000 a few months ago. MSRP was $27,800. I think the actual invoice price is around $25,500. They did give me an extra $2,000 on trade-in value for my previous car, so I think it "evened out" to if they had just let me get the price down to $25-26k. Anyway, if I were in your shoes I wouldn't pay more than $26k, unless you are getting a deal on trade-in value (if you're trading anything in). Hope this helps! I bought the car on Labor Day and I'm in Columbus, OH.

I have not seen the new nav in the 2012s, but the one in the gen III was not impressive. If you are not getting a deal on an '11 you should probably buy a '12. The sticker is actually lower than the '11 and the unit may be improved.

What you lose in the '12 is the jbl amp and speakers. JBL is a strange set up with active crossovers. It sounds better than the non-jbl, but it makes it difficult to upgrade. It did not sound good enough to me. Try to listen to both if you can.

I didn't like the nav in the '10 especially the iphone connectivity, so I went aftermarket on a 2 trim. I ended up with a better looking, better sounding unit for less money, but I have had my head unit stolen, something less likely if you go stock.

I pulled the numbers back up on our Prius III that we purchased mid Nov.
We paid $27,598.00 + Tax, Title & Doc...

They brought the car in for us as we wanted it w/beige interior.
(Blizzard Pearl, w/Solar Roof and Nav)

30 minutes before we went to sign the papers & pick up the car, we got a late quote of $26,197.00 So a $1401.00 diff.

The dealer was ~30miles away vs: 5.. and he would have to bring another car in.. naturally, we liked the $1400 less price better.. but felt it was basically too late to break the deal & not worth it as we would have also lost our $500 down payment... so, we did discuss this with our salesman & he did throw in a second full tank of gas.. (that $140/gal tank of gas right?) lol

Not only is our dealer just 5 miles away.. we also get free oil changes for the first 2 years... so, after factoring all that in.. I don't have to raise the hood for an oil change for some time.. the best way for me to justify the $1400 diff.

So, to answer your question... A Prius III w/Blizzard Pearl w/Solar, Nav and JBL System.. rear bumper applique.. best price we found was $26,197.00 + tax, title and doc fees...

    I hope that helps assist..

Yeah, you can spend $100 for an oil change due to the 0W-20 synthetic oil requirements. However, you only need to do it every 10K miles.
