Thanks for the comments. I'll have to look at brand for seat covers, I really like them. The cooler is high, so if it's behind drivers seat, it doesn't block my rear view. Yes, two brand new prius, we commute a lot.needless to say our fuel consumption is about $1000 less a month than our previous vehicles. They pay for themselves. I love the cars, and my biggest surprise is that they are not slow.
holy macro what did you have before? how many miles do you put a month? My '10 perl white sees ~2.5-3K a month and it is <$200 a month. '96 Protege it had replaced was ~300 to fuel. You either drove 15MPG SUV or put 10K a month on your babies.
Im right at 2.5 to 3K +, myself... yes, I drove my EB 4x4 2003 Expedition for work, and weekend duty before the Prius. That truck gets about 11-13 MPG with the mixed interstate and city driving I do for work. It has a 30 gallon tank and cost anywhere from 70 to over $100 a fill-up. I used to fill up twice a week, sometimes three fill-ups a week. Now that truck sits in the garage except a little weekend driving, and long family trips. So... The Prius is a rediculous change in vehicles. My wife drove a Ford 500, avg. MPG about 25. That car saw about 25,000/year. I'm selling the Expedition soon,,, to pick up a Ford, lifted, 4x4 ,Diesel Excursion. I still have boat towing, and kid hauling duties. I have always driven big trucks. I can thank my wife for getting me to even think about the Prius. I honestly was ready to wear the Yota salesman out with how chinsy, and slow the Prius was. I was completely wrong. When I sat down and figured out how much money I was wasting driving a truck to work every day... well I came to my senses. AND, the 3rd Gen Prius is an amazing vehicle. Fun to drive too. I even drive it on the weekend most of the time.
