Hi all, hope your weeks are going well. I've been a little behind in getting through the forums these days, so forgive me if this is repetitive but I thought I'd set the record straight on a few things that I've been getting questions on.

First, I’ve seen you guys kicking around the 5000 number in a couple places. That is not our sales goal, but rather a generous number that we’ve set aside to ensure anyone who had been a Priority Registrant and wanted to place an online order could do so. I know there was a lot of speculation about us selling out on day one etc, but that was never something we wanted to happen. You raised your hands early, we wanted to be able to meet your expectations of having a car for you.

Second, yes, you will be receiving more details on the status of your order as you go through the process. I won’t spoil the surprise but the first batch of emails should be going out to a select group tomorrow or Monday. If you don’t receive one and your buddy does, don’t panic please, additional batches will be going out within the next couple weeks.

Third, we’ll also be sending you a survey sometime soon, we really hope you’ll take some time to help us evaluate the program. We know there were definitely some unexpected bugs, things we have and continue to learn from, but I want to be sure to capture feedback beyond the system itself—more about the overall experience vs your traditional experience of buying a car. You’ll have a chance to address both subjects of course and all feedback is extremely valuable to us. As many of you know, we listen quite a bit to what our Prius Chat friends have said over the years, whether it’s product improvements, marketing suggestions etc, we are definitely hearing you.

Lastly, any issues/concerns getting your orders through before 12/15, please PM me ASAP. Happy to help.

    Did I miss anything crucial?

    Best,
    Erica Gartsbeyn

This is what my email says:

Out of curiousity greenleaf, what was your order number? Be interesting to see if that correlates with build dates.

I got the same email just a few minutes ago. Order number is 0166. Interesting choice of words I thought. "Between February and March in 2012" rather than simply saying "In February or March." This is kind of what we expected anyway, since they announced delivery in Japan starting Jan 30, and we were told the earliest we could expect cars to arrive here would be March.

If they start building in Feb then delivery will be very late in March since it takes about 6 weeks to ship the cars from Japan and they some time to fit port options and ship from the docks in Long Beach to the dealer (about 10 minutes drive if you are buying from Dianne at Carson Toyota.

I am now expecting delivery in late April to Early May (order 122). They will probably have a few VIP cars delivered in early to mid March.

Lol, we debated over those words for a bit:) Anyhow, as you get closer to your order month, you will get more specific info. This is all part of a bit of sneak behind the scenes of how we plan production with our factories.

    Enjoy the future updates!

Are dealers getting test drive cars early? January allocation perhaps. I'm in the situation of needing to make a choice between a PiP and LEAF - and I really need to make that decision in January. So real test drives early would help me (and probably others).

A full brochure would be appreciated too.

And finally, when should we expect an EPA rating to come out?

    Thanks

    Erik

Early morning today, Friday Dec 9, after reading the Prius Team news, I wanted to "Thank" them for the upcomming news, then I encounter that I " DO NOT HAVE ACCESS" to the thank you button.
Does it mean that I'm special in some way?

Not only would a full brochure be great, but it would be nice if the US website had more info on it like the Japanese site has. The Japanese site has way way way more useful info on it.

The EPA numbers were not on FuelEconomy.gov for the 2012 Camry until about two weeks after it was in the show rooms. The EPA numbers for the Prius v were there about the same time the "v" was released.

Order number doesn't help. Date and time of final order confirmation would.

There's a glitch on the order website for me. I ordered from Roseville Toyota but my dealer shows up at Carson Toyota. It does show correctly as Roseville when I click on the details of my order. This could be due to the fact that my original designated dealer was Carson but I switched to Roseville during the order process. It was correct until I checked today.

This looks like something you need to address with Toyota. The Toyota Team is on PriusChat. If it were me, I would send them a private message addressing the issue, so they can get it straightened out.

It got fixed when I checked today, I kinda figured it would just fix itself, just posted in this thread as a head ups. Hence, I didn't make a new thread just for this minor issue like some drama queens like to do here on PC who would of pooing themselves months before delivery over it...haha...:focus:
