I feel most gas companies are bad. Mostly cause you always hear about some disaster or fine.

If you are talking gas quality, you need to unfortunately stick with shell or bp. I know some people have had no issue with cheap gas stations. But I have had first hand experience on my old car, where cheap gas caused a piston misfire and shell gas ran fine.

Shell, Mobil, Phillips, Pilot in my area in that order based on price and mileage. Most of what we call cut rate or cheap gas is only 1 or 2 cents cheaper these days and mileage drops off in all our vehicles.

Simple answer. Murphy USA. Contrary to popular belief they are not a Wal-Mart company. They just contract with Wal-Mart to put their stations in the parking lot. I just trust the gas and have never had a moments trouble from their gas. Not to mention with a Wal-Mart shopping card we get .10 off per gallon price.

They are up and down the Eastern side of the US. I would venture to say that they are all over the country. I know there are plenty in Florida. Because when I am on Holiday down there, that is the only place I fill up.

Another Murphy Oil customer here, never a problem with their gas or diesel.

They are all over Florida. You must have a classy Walmart in your area. I have seen them in Jacksonville, Fort Pierce, and Stuart. Not that I have actually stopped there. I am afraid someone will take a picture of me and post it on the internet as another ugly Walmart customer. Besides, I don't have a Walmart card so it isn't worth it to me.

I do feel like Shell makes my car run better, but it could be the fact that I know what I fill up with and when. I've used Shell, Flying J, Exxon, BP, Valero, Wawa, BJs, etc and not had any issues with any vehicle. The main difference you'll see in a general area, is typically how much "detergent" they add to the gas before it's pumped into their tank. I've watched the same tanker truck go to 2 different gas stations before, different brand, different price. Most of the gas is being refined at the same refinery in a given radius.

I use Costco, or Union 76 or Chevron or Shell, in that order. The list is also in order of ascending price....

    In San Jose, California:

Shell and 76 are my two favorites.

I use ARCO, Safeway and Chevron if I want to lose mileage/performance (-5 to -10 mpg).

Haven't tried Valero or Rotten Robbie.

I use the Gasbuddy.com app on my Android to find the best gas prices.

Prefer Citgo (let's not get into politics!). Wawa usually cheapest, will go there from time to time. There is a Shell across the street from me when I am desperate (their price is usually a bit higher then the rest). Personally am a fan of customer service and go out of my way to support the gas stations/gas attendants who treat me better. When in an unknown area I use GasBuddy for guidance.

I like Tesoro, their stations are conveniently located and fuel is competitively priced, they also operate one of only two refineries in the state. The other refiner here is Chevron, so those two refineries Tesoro and Chevron end up making most of the petrol sold at other stations. There is another company that has ability to ship bulk gasoline to their fuel terminal so all of our fuel comes from only three sources. If I don’t buy at a Tesoro station I will usually buy from a military service station and save some money by not paying taxes, but usually it is still Tesoro fuel being sold there. I almost forgot about Costco, but same thing there it is usually still Tesoro fuel in the tanks.

...OK there South Jersey, you and me know WaWa, wish they moved down here when I did...miss those turkey subs and coffee. :tea:

Not having a local Wawa, I go with major gaso brands due to various discounts available (eg; grocery store program etc).

In NJ you can not pump your own fuel, it is full service statewide. The gas attendant is the person whom pumps the fuel for you. You were kidding right?

You might have to go to New Jersey to find one. I am old enough to remember Fire Chief gasoline ads with the song, "You can trust your car to the man who wears the star". They used to pump your gas, check your oil, clean your windshield and collect your payment.
