Acura ZDX - Jason Fogelson - Forbes I'd agree w/some of the choices (like the Panamera, Crosstour, ZDX and MKT due to the grille) but a few are missing like the BMW X6. I disagree w/Murano Crosscabriolet. The Lexus CT and Prius v made it into this list...
Four door hatchbacks tend to be those "but it has such a nice personality" cars. I drive one, actually, and love it, but even lowered it's still a monoblob.
The v isn't particularly ugly, it's just... boring. I got glared at by the salesman when (as I was purchasing one), I commented on it being kinda ugly, and he was displeased. He looked torn between defending the car and the fact that I was about to drop an easy sale in his lap. Poor salesman...
Not a fan of that list and I don't agree with some of the vehicles on there. A few of the mind blowers to me that don't make sense are the CT and the Panamera.
What's the point of concocting a stupid list like that? Can't their writers think up anything intelligent?
I thought the Honda/Acura was pathetic the first time I saw it. I question only the Lexus which is almost a dead ringer for the Mazda 3 a few years back before the "smiley face" grill. Then it was praised for it's looks. It's Forbes, I guess I'm really surprized that gaudy Mercedes was mentioned as well as the wierd Panamera. I actually agree with Jeremy Clarkson on that one, "uglier than a genital wart".
The ZDX is one of those cars that looks a heck of a lot better in person. When I saw photos I instantly thought of the Aztec, but after seeing a couple in person I think it pretty decent looking. On the other hand, it is an absolutely silly car - how it ever went from concept to production is beyond me - though it seems like Honda repeated the mistake with the Cross Tour.
+1 The thing I can't understand with the cross tour, is honda knew how ugly it was before production and decided people want a really ugly car. I agree with forbes that the prius v is ugly, much worse looking than the prius liftback or prius c. Unlike those other cars I don't think the prius v's looks will hurt sales.
I've never heard of a Porsche on an 'ugly' list before. OK, maybe the 914 wasn't their best design, but that was decades ago.
The cT and Prius v don't look all that good stock. When I saw the v, I thought: this would look awesome slammed. You have a Mazda 3? I really don't get the Panamera since the turbo version goes like stink.
Looks schmooks, Prius v is the best looking wagon I've ever seen and CT is a good looking hatch. Prius v is going to start looking really good when gas hit $5/gal again.
As a Leaf owner, how on earth did they miss it. With bulging headlight's it's looking like a cross between a polliwog and a catfish ... it is one ugly car that I got here.
Haha... I think the Leaf looks ok but I don't like the tail lights up so high. It reminds me of old Pontiac Transport minivans. One of my friends thinks the Leaf looks really ugly because of the headlights. The chief vehicle engineer referred to them as "charming". I do not know, I'd seen both of them at an auto show when they were both new and I thought they were pretty odd looking, to say the laest.
