Has anyone seen this color yet? The local dealer has no color chips yet, says it's a new PIP-only color and is on the light side. The web site makes it look medium-dark. In the downloaded brochure it looks like many different shades of blue.
Your dealer should have known that you can see the color on the 2012 Camry. Here's a picture I took on my iPhone. There's a few pictures in other threads too.
Some pics I took in this thread: http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-h...cle-range-87-mpge-32-000-a-4.html#post1389569
It looks completely different in stacey's and Paradox's photos. Would you call it a light blue or a medium? It might be academic because I was told my color can't be changed once the order is confirmed. Does anyone know otherwise?
It kinda changes depending on lighting but to me, outside, it's light... I considered it just to have something different since I always go black/white/black/white but with it not being remotely close to a dark blue I went with Winter Grey Metallic.
I think it changes with the lighting too. When I saw it, it was a bright, sunny day. It looked a lot darker from farther away and I wasn't sure that I liked it, but I thought it was a pretty color close up, so I ended up picking the blue. I would have picked black instead if it had been an option though. If I'm not mistaken, in order to change your color you'd have to cancel and go through the order process again.
I've seen it in bright sunlight and shade. I was surprised it didn't look particularly light or washed out in the sunlight, like it does in some of those indoor shots I've seen. These metallic colors can look drastically different in shade, sun, fluorescent or incandescent light. Definitely pastel though in all cases! Noone will mistake this for blue ribbon or nautical blue!
Look at the statistics on the spreadsheet. The white and the Green are the most popular colors, with both representing 50% of all the orders.
after seeing the Clearwater Blue color "live" on 2012 Camrys, I think I have seen a very close color on some Scions and Lexus lately while walking my dog through the local strip mall parking lot. I might have seen it on a newer Matrix too. I won't ever buy a white or black car.

Here are some photos I took today of the Camry with Clearwater Blue, in extreme lighting conditions... right at sunset: .
I saw it in person last month, and gave up a month or two to switch my order. The middle photo looks the most like it. In sunlight more of the car looks like the light area on the front bumper. My friend with a gray Prius said I got the right color. She doesn't enjoy finding her car in a parking lot, especially around here where every 10th car is a Prius.
Switched from silver to Clearwater Blue. It's the only one of the five colors that's distinctive, and makes up in cheerfulness what it lacks in elegance. IMO, of course. YOMV.
I agree. That's what I'm getting too. I might've also liked he green. Too late now, though! I've got to get out and see it now that John has seen them at dealers' lots in MN.
....But isn't Sea Glass Pearl an exclusive color option for the PiP, making it the most 'distinctive'?
Amongst us cognoscienti, of course it is! But to the vast unwashed masses on the freeway, it could easily be mistaken for just another white Prius. And most of my friends, whose esteem I will be pandering to, unfortunately fall into the latter category.
