    Actually I apologize but I really don't.

My point is that by making emission free electricity and using that amount of electricity to drive around results in lower emissions from driving around.

Are you saying if you install a coal powered generator at your home and supply that power to the grid it is the same thing? If so I think the difference is the emissions at your house (not the power plant).

Two different items aren't fungible, I'm pretty sure being different violates the definition of fungible. Every electron is the same, if I charge my laptop from PV and you charge the same model laptop from the grid, and then we send both laptops to a CSI lab, is there any way to qualitatively state which battery was charged from which?

Thats probably true of any particular grade of oil (I don't really get all the types, sweet crude, etc...), and may possibly be true of any particular quantity of similar coal (although I would think more mineral variation would occur).

Yea, one sale is fungible with another sale. We'll see about the Nov sales.

100% of gasoline is bad from environmental perspective. I assume that is why you are upset about coal.

We already know that GM twisted arms to force dealers to take on a Volt demo car, and and then tolerated the bad PR involved in dealers taking the tax credit. There is no supply deficit, that has been obvious for months.

I suspect this story is just spin surrounding a pre-determined release to sell clause, and GM deciding to release all dealers rather than only a sub-group to avoid dealer backlash.

November sales will be revealed today. Place your bets.

With GM allowing demo models to sold, the inventory available was higher than its ever been.

2,500 are needed to be on target for the year.

I counted 55 available for purchase from 24 of the local Chevrolet dealers within a 50-mile radius that had inventory listed online (using the cars.com search feature) there were another 11 that didn't. One dealer had 7. One had 5. Two had 4. Six had 3. Four had 2. Nine had 1. One had 0.

Knowing GM needs to at least double sales from October just to stay on target doesn't paint a pretty picture if they don't... since starting in January, the sales expectations are triple.

The prediction is the number for Noveber are low and the "slip" to the media about a plug-in Cruze was prevented or disputed in any way because GM needs a distraction at this point... and certainly not a fire sale.

After the fire sale LOL they better be in full damage control mode. Then comes the pip and more fish in the pond from other car companies. Can GM the scream help or uncle. Then SCHIZAM " I'm from the federal government, and i am here to help you." RUN GM RUN. Sorry i could not help myself LOL.

They're really feeling the burn now... only 1,139 sold in November.

    Better get some ointment.

Well, they're up slightly from October, I doubt we'll even be able to say that next month with the fire hoopla.

They're definitely not going to make the 10,000 for 2011 target now though, probably have trouble hitting 7,500.

At least there are some good deals to be found now for those willing to take a chance on this incredible car.

Scouts honor I didn't know this before post above. Do I win a prize?? :D:D

.. Man they really wanted to call this thing an electric car didn't they. Was it worth it GM? swear I saw an outtake in something like WKTEC where they showed adding a range extending gas engine to something like an EV1 in the '90s. Not sure what to say, but they haven't figured how to make AT cars that sell much.

Prius will bring others to their knees. Can't beat it, might as well copy it.

Pri and v one-two punch for November, what .... 14k combined?
    .....

PiP first month sales - 2.5k and goes up from there.

I admit it, I don't get it. Why root for the failure of a U.S. company and the success of a Japanese company. Apparently your area of the country has full employment.

There's no such thing as an american company (presuming you mean usa). GM builds some stuff in Canada, Mexico, China, etc. ... meanwhile Toyota manufactures here in the U.S.A. as does Nissan, etc. The Leaf will be built here soon, for example. What ... does it do your heart good that U.S. over paid VP's are domiciled here? If you want to "root" for succes in U.S. auto manufacturing ... then root for sucess of the Leaf when the battery and auto plant open here shortly.
    ;)

I wouldn't say I root for Volt failiure. I don't plan to root for it either, why bother?
Who do they think they're fooling with a 37 MPG CS mode EREV for $42k with back seats for 12 year olds ???? Ok, two in front can go 40 miles all electric. Cool. I'm too practical and don't have the $$.

Geez, if GM or anyone made a decent Prius full hybrid copy, I'da shopped it all day.

I think it's their attitude that kinda stinks sometimes.
When you have a CEO proudly saying 'I wouldn't be caught dead in a Prius', it comes across as foolish.

Prius is thee hybrid. Proven, long term sales figues. I has a couple, minor quirks to date in the 3rd gen. Said it before, will say again, GM would have been better off to basically copy the 3rd gen while elimimating those couple quirks and be on the road to a proper plug-in.

Maybe Cruze plug-in will do better.
