Slow last few days

it is very annoying.

 

Yes, it felt slower normal in the day today.

At night, I hit problem again. At 12:46 AM 11/15/2011 Pacific, I had two tabs take FOREVER to attempt to load and they timed out, after ~10 mins. In another tab, I made by edits to a post and tried to update. It timed out w/a blank page, after many minutes.

This post took at least 2 minutes to post...

Yep. Ditto. It's quite bad here right now (6:59 pm Pacific).

Is there any data about what the typical loads look like in either tabular or graph form? Is this a high or low #?

What's up w/all these "guests"? Is this an atypical number? Is there some way to throttle them as an encouragement to join?

Ok, things seemed snappy last night, for the most part but Priuschat was completely inaccessible somewhere between 2 am - 2:45 am Pacific 11/16. My attempts to view anything would cause my browser to time out w/an error page.

I've had trouble the last two mornings. Yesterday the server was throwing a database error. This morning the server was unavailable. I have to wonder if this is just a coincidence, is the server getting hammered in the morning, or something else?

I talked to Danny about it yesterday. He thinks it may be due to the server backup. PC goes offline around 2-3 am then comes back around 5 am PST.

PC has outgrown our current server and Danny is working on the upgrade to speed things back up. We're big boys now.

 

That makes sense. It happened again today, so for the last three days PC has been dead at 8:00 a.m. EST.

Priuschat intermittently is VERY slow again as of ~1:30 pm Pacific time.

 

i've had pretty good luck the last few months. a little bit of intermittant slowness yesterday and today, nothing major.

 

I've noticed spotty slowdowns in recent weeks, especially around 8 to 9 a.m. ET. Moving from post to post will work okay, and then it just sits and sits. It has the feel of an overload situation, like too many users or a running backup job.

It's almost midnight on Saturday and PC is almost unusable. I have another tab open and browse other sites while I wait for PC to do its stuff. Often it times out and I have to try again. Is the sever getting overloaded again?

Are all of the double posts as of late a result of PC running so slow lately?
